Neither a extension bit nor a deactivation bit are known to me. Due to the screw diameter being larger than the hole in the Dremel discs that I use, I haven't been able to use them.
Although I have not used it yet, it indicates that it is 1/4 inch in diameter. You should be able to use a 1/4 inch sanding disc.
I have used them in my Dremel tool at 30,000 rpm with no problems, and they are hardened steel as shown in the pictures. Using wheels and stones that are not rated for that speed may result in damage to the mandrel however, the wheel or stone will probably hold up fine.
The thread is probably 32, a finer one.

The tool should be kept at the lowest speed and the pressure should be as light as possible. Despite my best efforts, I still bent it a little the second time. Definately can bend it back, but it won't recompose itself. Why can't they make these things out of the same material as drill bits. There's no doubt it would endure a lot.
There is almost twice as much surface area on the smaller Mandrel than the stock one that comes with your tool, which means you have a better grip and less strain on the contact point between the Mandrel and I honestly think this is a great product and recommend it to anyone who uses this kind of software.
The broken one had to be replaced with this new one. We gave this design 4 stars since it's aesthetically pleasing. I received those that are almost 1/4" longer than the ones I originally I had to take all the extra length off in order for it to work correctly with the application I'm using it for. The chuck will now allow it to slide all the way into the hole, which will prevent it from bending in half at high speeds.
Although not recommended for high speed, it is a good choice for cutting light materials like balsa wood for modeling. Due to excessive speed, the product bends, so I give it a 3 star rating but other than that it is a good product that I would recommend for light trimming or cutting.
It was the perfect size to fit my Dremel. The local stores were running out of larger cutting discs with a small hole in the center. I can now use the larger cutting discs that are available with this item.
Mandrels of this quality are far superior to those of other brands. It's only that I have to buy them in pairs that I have a complaint. In my case, the smaller arbor hole would be more suitable and I wish that I could purchase it.
As for the rest of the product, it is good. Despite being a good product, the design is not well done. There was a problem with the red rubber gasket that came with the product. I went to the hardware store and purchased some stainless steel washers, and now the product works as it should. I can understand why someone might cheap out on a little thing, but I question why. As a result, the red gasket was an overall poor design and engineering decision.
