PUNCTURE The Savannah 8" CBN Grinding Wheel is made from solid steel, bonded with cubic boron nitride (CBN), and forged from a single piece. It appears that the sides are gritted from the picture. Can you tell me how wide it is if true?
Yes, there is grit on the side of the wheel that can be used. The grind is slightly less than 3/4" wide. Use it for bench chisels, skews, plane irons, etc. whenever a flat grind instead of a hollow grind is desired. On the front and back there is the same kind of grit. Since these wheels are machined steel, they will not cause any problems with grinding on the side, as they would with regular abrasive wheels. The Ron Brown Show
