When the mounting hole is drilled, how large will it be? Can this be used with any 4 1/2" Makita grinder made in the last decade or two?

Approximately 5/8 of an inch is drilled into the arbor (or shaft hole). I believe it will fit your arbor if it is 5/8, as my Makita grinder has a 4 inch width.

How does this 5-minute exercise compare to the others Can I get an arbor shaft with the pack?

Unlike the other abrasive wheels, this one does not have an arbor shaft, it's designed for use with angle grinders on hand

An item used for grinding metal

It works fine to grind on a grinding wheel. The new one replaces the worn out one I had previously owned. This would be a great tool for those who need to grind heavy materials.
