A DIY waterproofing project in my basement necessitated purchasing this to rough-in a new waterproofing system I'm up 8 points In my basement, at the intersection of floor and wall, there is about 10" between them. An unfinished slab of concrete lies beneath the floor. The wall is a block of concrete. The wheel I used worked perfectly. I had to lighten the pressure I applied to avoid grinding grooves into the floor because it is so aggressive. As long as I used the included spacer, it was a perfect fit for my Harbor Freight Drill Master angle grinder. *A WORD OF CAUTIONS During the grinding process of concrete, silica is released in huge quantities- Not only is dust laden with toxins a mess, it is dangerous for human health to breathe. As such, I recommend that you use respirators to protect your lungs and to use a vacuum to support your grinder cowl. It is an effort that you will not regret.
Having never used a diamond wheel or a grinder before, it's tough for me to compare it to more expensive products, but it did the job quite well, and it did it This thing gets a lot of material off quite quickly, as others have commented. About 1/8" of a door entry way was able to be leveled by grinding out about 1/8". It had a lot of high spots and craters in that small area where multiple concrete pours joined, but now it is mostly level and smooth. In the end, it did a pretty good job and left a nice finish. accidentally gouged the heck out of one spot of the floor while trying to get to the door jamb when I was trying to get right up to it. Although I could probably get it smoother if the trim were removed, I can probably live with it better than what I had to deal with before. To sum it up, this works really well for any small jobs that require some It might not hold up very long in the face of more work. Although I am happy, I am still disappointed.
The purchase of this tool was made knowing I would need to flatten concrete as part of our home addition. The tool took a 1/4" hump out of the floor in a 2" area in a short amount of time, lots of dust between uses so if indoor work is required, a good vacuum, mask, and air movement would be helpful. Although water is an option, the grinder runs at high speeds and I would expect a mess in the long run if it's not cleaned. We are going to try cleaning up some marble slabs with water that need a little help. When you have concrete to grind, it would be ideal to use this machine.
It was necessary to smooth out the rough edges around the concrete job done by the plumber after I moved my rough in plumbing for the basement bathroom. I was able to cut through the corners and clean everything up. We're ready for the floor to be levelled. If you are using a dust shroud for the first time, make sure you use one. There will be a positive effect on your life. My first attempt filled my basement with gray dust and I ended up having to buy this one for $27. You are welcome,

There is only a washer included with this. There would have been no problem with it taking a single page to explain how to attach it, but the team didn't bother.
During the process of laying down flooring, the concrete patch prevented it from sitting flush. This solution worked perfectly. You can buy the grinder from Harbor Freight for less than $50 and get the grinding wheel from Amazon for less than $30! It only took me about three minutes to finish what I was doing so I can't speak to its longevity, but it was perfect.
I need to grind some concrete caps that were poured on walls. The work was effective, but the user wore down after awhile. I have used a competitor's product that was very similar to this and it lasted twice as long for the same project.
This was due to frequent stops to allow for cooling. The concrete I was grinding didn't do the aggregate any good.
