This motorized blade has been used to grind down 1000 square feet of cinder block wall (probably not all of it, but just a fourth of it), as well as to smooth out exposed areas, and it still works like it was just purchased. Dust collection is most definitely something that needs to be done with a vacuum hose.

Turbine vanes on this wheel tend to pull up material quickly and aggressively. Grinding surfaces flat can make it possible to get longer wheel life with concentric rings. As the tool and wheel are being moved side-to-side, the vanes extend beyond the edge of the wheel, helping the wheel grind into the adjacent surface. This limitation is related to the edge of the wheel, which limits how much material can be ground. A pass will take you away. Having a grinder with a powerful motor enough to drive the 5" wheel at a suitable speed is not an easy job. Make sure the RPM ratings match.
