There is no way for me to The HSS and M42 versions are used by me.
In order to make tools out of high speed steel, I use 80. The 80 material is sharp but I sharpen with the 180 because the 80 takes away a lot of material quickly.
There are no cracks on the side of the wheel but only on the face
You do not need to replace them both.

grinding wheel 1 is 8 inches in diameter. Sharpening tools for high speed lathes can be done with CBN wheels of 5 inches. There is a Porter Cable 8 inch low speed / high speed grinder in my shop. The side metal shield cover was removed and the grinding wheel was installed, which is 8 inches long, with a diameter of 1 inch. The width of the bed is five inches. As part of the grinder, I received two Aluminum Oxide grinding wheels that are 1 inch wide. The CBN wheel I purchased is 1 inch wide. The grinder rim of this grinder is one inch in width, and it prevents me from re-installing the metal shield on the side. The cover is necessary because aluminum oxide grinding wheels can fail and fly apart, so having this cover is not a big deal to me. I am able to have more than enough width when using a jig to sharpen my lathe tools using the 5 inch CBN grinding wheels. There are 3 washers in the CBN wheel to help adjust the wheel on a grinder shaft that has a diameter of 5/8". As for the blade shims, I used the smallest shims next to the grinder housing, and I did not use shims on the outside of the CBN wheel, just the You can see additional details in the photographs.
It should be noted that there may be an issue with bore size on the central hole. To be more specific, I tried to mount it on a 5/8" arbor (or an adapter that converts 1/2 to 5/8") but it did not work. There is a problem with the adapter. The following measurements were taken with two 5/8" was exactly the size of the adapter. There is a hole in the wheel that measures There's no way to fit it. happened before, as the directions specifically state that if you have any dirt on the arbor, it could prevent it from fitting. You should clean the arbor with sandpaper to make sure it fits. Their assurances were The number 001). I had no problem using both calipers because the adapter I was using was brand new, clean as a whistle, and exactly 5/8" across. In 1/64" there is a difference of The following is the definition of "016" I'd say that's much more than zero. This is "001".
I am sending it back and ordering another and hoping that there is some sort of quality control issue with the lot.
My hobby is turning wood. I've been doing it for a couple years already. Whenever I sharpen my tools, I use lower quality stones. It was possible for me to get some good edges and grinds on this before I made this wheel, but once I used this wheel on my grinder, I could immediately Suddenly, there was no vibration at all it was a low hum. Getting them to spin true before made it difficult for me to put edges on them. Now I am able to do this because it isn't as difficult. Installing it makes it spin perfectly the moment you turn it on. Furthermore, this arbor fits so snugly on 5/8 arbors, you'll think it's In the course of many purchases on things like this, there seems to be a couple that aren't huge, but are generally decent sized purchases that you will never seem to make. The event changed my life drastically. It ranks among the top three life changing experiences in my life. My first car was 2) the day I got it. 2) the day when my UPS man provided me with this wheel.
These things aren't worth the money, and there's a lot of argument about that. As far as I'm concerned, they are! It's true, you pay a little more, but you get a little more in return. Norton white is ten times more expensive than these, but they are ten times as long lasting. Because they sharpen very quickly, you don't waste a lot of time using them and are able to produce better results. Since they never need truing and shaping and ALL the others do, OFTEN, a jig is always in need of repositioning if they are constantly out of position. The one in question is not the Only if you own one of them can you demonstrate all of this. You should do so, and I highly recommend it. It is also nice to have a wide surface.
Their smooth running and the fact that they never change dimensions are appealing to me. So I can make my jigs for the angles I need before I make my parts, and I won't have to readjust later, like I have to do with conventional wheels that get smaller over time as they are used. It is indeed expensive, but if you take care of your furnishings, and perform some routine maintenance once in a while, they will last for many years.
Sharpening wheel of the highest quality. I am sure it must be worth that price. Other than that there is nothing that I can add to what others have already said, but I will say it is awesome how little spark comes from the wheels compared to those on my other cars. This is a great wheel, and I would buy it.
The CBN grinding wheel I have here is my first attempt. This is absolutely fantastic if you can get it, steal it, or borrow it the money there is.
My order was as described and arrived on.
