As for the original color, I'd describe it more as a Tiffany blue than as turquoise. Generally, they are composed of heavy-duty plastic, are very sturdy, do not smell of chemical It is easy to pull them in and out as they are made of cut-out plastic There are handles on the ends. A slight lip on the edges would be a great improvement, and stackable would be a plus. While they can technically be used laying on their side with your stuff hung from the front or out, they are not really designed for this kind of use You can store things in style. It is impossible to have too many cookies, so I will be back for more. This organizes my condo well, and I like it even more because Whitmor offers two larger sizes in the same.
