Questions & Answers

In other words, are they not Does it harm?

The answer is not clear to me. Silver tarnishes when exposed to sulfur and other chemicals in the air that cause it to tarnish. They must have some type of chemical in them to remove that. Silver should always be rinsing and being dried before it is used.

Do Hagerty silver cloth protectors support washing and if so, will they continue to function once they have been cleaned?

It is not possible to wash them. Your help is greatly appreciated!

- I have a tray 14" by 22" that I am using for a silver service with coffee, tea, sugar, and creamer 10" high There is a tarnish preventive bag that would hold all of them, right?

As far as I know, there is no bag like that. In addition, I do not think it would be a good idea to have the pieces To store each piece separately, I bought separate bags.

Originally, the crown of queen Victoria was part of a silver plate set. Throughout the years, it has become tarnished. A hat has the piece mounted on it. What is the likelihood of my bag regaining its shine?

There is no purpose for the bag to serve that purpose. In order to prevent tarnishing, once the item has been untarnished and polished, it can be stored in the bag. Jewelry and silverware come out beautifully with it.

I work
5/5

Finding a silver bag that can fit our plates is a nice find. I'm not sure why we're saving them, but at least they will be in good condition when we pass them on to our kids, who probably won't feel the same way about them.

Contains antitarnish properties that prevent Sterling Silver from tarnishing
4/5

In theory, this bag would be better suited to storing larger sterling silver pieces, such as flatware, small silver trays, etc. I use this bag to store my silver jewelry pieces that I wish to lay flat instead of Each of these jewelry bags comes in a variety of sizes to accommodate different pieces of jewelry. I keep only one necklace and the matching earrings in this bag because it's large enough to accommodate multiple necklaces. However, I'm worried about tangling or scratching, so I typically carry just one necklace and earring pair with This bag is little more than anti-tarnish cloth that you can pick up from a jeweler or fabric store in bulk and wrap your jewelry in, probably for a lot less than this bag costs. Amazon's convenience and a zippered bag are appealing to me There is no way I'm going to run across town to find this fabric since I'm too lazy). Although it is more expensive to purchase fabric on your own, the price here may be more affordable if you aren't lazy like me. As a whole, I find that the product is perfect for what I need. It takes me less time to polish my silver, since I wear it more often. I wear my jewelry and enjoy it more because I can simply grab a piece of jewelry and put it on before heading to work.

you have silver, make sure it is clean and used! This is a great pair

have a number of different sizes to hold all the silver (We were married in 1969 and sterling silver seemed to be the go to gift from our parents' friends as they passed on. Put it to good use if you have Despite their heavy weight, these are really well constructed and have a nice zipper closure.

You will not be disappointed with this silver protection! My favorite bag is this Hagerty
5/5

I love it. Silver is very well protected with this! A teapot or coffee pot, as well as medium trays, will fit into this size. Once silver is polished when it is put into a bag, very little polishing will be required when it is taken out. These bags come in all sizes and I highly recommend them. These zippers are excellent quality, and I have had some for quite some time. I still use them as well as I did.

Described as smaller than it is in reality
3/5

The description of the bag indicated that it could be used to hold a sugar bowl and/or creamer from a silver service - so I made two purchases. This was exactly what I wanted from them. I could not fit either in either of these bags. Even if the whole piece could fit inside, closing it with a zip would not have been possible. Sugar and creamer bowls have 4 small feet, which I believe prevented them from fitting into my silver service set, but many silver service sets are designed with these feet. This would mean these small bags may fit if there are no legs, feet, or appendages (even the handles would be in the way). My size was too small, so I had to return them and get the next size up. In addition to holding both items, it was spacious enough.

I find it very useful
5/5

I have a Hagerty cloth flatware box in which I store my sterling for years, so I never have to polish it. Over this bag will fit a sectioned plastic container that contains silver earrings and other small pieces of So that I don't have to polish the sterling Xmas tree bells much, I will probably get another package to put them in. is a much better method than wrapping the plastic wrap around it.

Exactly what I was looking for! A couple of times each year, I host an English tea party for family and friends, but I hate polishing the In addition to silver trays and dishes, I've been buying other items
5/5

Now, I have been selling stuff at estate sales, thrift shops, and yard sales for a number of years. The best part about polishing something that looks awful is finding a way to bring it to its former glory. Having to repolish everything right before a hot cup of tea is something I don't care for. So I tested it since I did not think this bag would work. Before my Mardi Gras tea two months ago, I polished everything. Toward the end of the week, before my tea with my husband, I opened the bag and pulled everything out (each item had been individually wrapped in fabric, so it wouldn't be scratched) and I was amazed. Nothing has any black spots on it. The only thing I had to do was clean everything up to a shiny finish and my tea table looked fabulous! Two smaller bags ended up being needed for my two silver sugar bowls after I hosted my tea party!.

Since I haven't given this much thought yet, I have no idea what to make of it
3/5

Since I haven't given this much thought yet, I have no idea what to make of it. seems to be just another cheap item of clothing. It is for protecting silver jewelry that I bought. If one could figure out how to use the mystery chemical, one would most likely be able to make such a thing oneself. My jewelry doesn't have to dip in water first, and I don't have to soak it each time I reach for it, which means I don't wear so much of my jewelry when my morning routine is underway.
