Casabella Oxiclean Splot Carpet Stain Remover

It was, I believe, a big joke. (the machine) I think OxiClean liquid is a fantastic product, but this Splot carpet stain remover is ineffective. It leaves a lot of water on the carpet, and no amount of pumping will get it out. The tub is split in half on the inside, and the idea is that you pump the handle up and down, forcing water into your carpet through a 2 inch hole in the bottom, and then the water should return to the other half. Not so. The carpet retains the majority of the water. There is nothing that can be done to clean it up. I had a lot more success simply spraying the oxiClean on the spots and rubbing them with a brush. (It doesn't include the OxiXlean. ) I was going to return it, but my daughter had already shattered the box. A valuable lesson has been learned.

Here's the truth about you: feedback on a real product To be honest, I'd like one of those handy-dandy-looking things. a handy carpet shampoo for the home- er, or even a steam cleaner, but our budget says "no way!" Two toddlers and a cat live with us. As a result, stains occur. I purchased this product in order to thoroughly clean some cat vomit from our looped carpet upstairs. Instead of simply removing the discoloration, I wanted to thoroughly rinse the carpet. br>br>I used Resolve (sorry, Oxy-) to create this image. clean, but it's more effective) and the Splot cleaning tool It drew up a lot of dirty water, much more than a damp rag and pressure could have done, so yay! I did learn a few things that were useful, which is why I wanted to write a review for this product. (Perhaps the manufacturers could write better directions? ) First, before it "sucks," the "clean water" reservoir must nearly empty itself. So take your time and persevere. Enlist the assistance of your children! It also doesn't pull up all of the water you put in it, which I understand. When you're finished, the carpet is damp (but not soggy), so the "lost water" is trapped in the fibers. It won't take long to dry; if you step on it with a towel, it'll dry even faster. br>br>The second thing I noticed was that while this product would be ideal for a 3in round stain, it was not as effective for a larger area, which was what I was dealing with. In patches, I was able to remove the stain. Overall, I'm happy with the result, though it's not quite as good as a proper shampoo machine would have produced (duh). ), but it actually cleans and rinses the fibers far better than a wet rag could, and it's within our budget. To summarize, I'm glad to have it in my back pocket for when the stomach bug strikes again! You know it's coming when you have a bunch of small children.

I filled exactly 8 oz, tightened lids, held down while pumping for vacuum, and pumped vigorously for at least 5 minutes, and Splat is a rip off, as I should have known for the price. Half of the water was turned on, but there was very little backup. One thing that worked well was spraying on oxiclean spot remover and using a rug shampooer to extract the water.

This is a complete waste of money. Simply purchase the oxiclean carper remover, water, and a clean towel to complete the task. This is a real letdown.

I was unable to use this product. I'm a handy guy who can sometimes fix things that aren't working. I spent a lot of time experimenting with different methods, but none of them were successful in producing a complete seal. It was just a leak. I was hoping to fall in love with this product.

This is not going to work. It didn't work on any of the carpets I tried it on, including very flat carpet, "not quite shag" carpet, and a few in between. It has left me feeling quite let down.
