Questions & Answers

On hardwood floors, how well does it pick up dog hair?

On hardwoods, it does not pick up well. Suction/power appears to be lacking. To get it to pick up anything, I have to go over the same area several times.

What's the trick to getting the hose to suck up?

A slide-like button on the handle indicates whether the carpet is low or plush. If you place it on a low carpet, the hose will have a strong suction. That was something I had to work out for myself. I was about to return it because I thought it had terrible suction.

What's the policy on returns?

It's been over a year since I've had my sweeper led. It won't turn on

Is there a second motor in this vacuum?

Because the second motor blew out, I only needed to get a new head from the company.

This is a fairly in-depth analysis
4/5

This vacuum was recently purchased, and over the weekend, I cleaned the majority of the carpet in my home. Here are my thoughts on the subject: br>br>I bought this model solely on the basis of Amazon reviews. I've been very impressed with Shark vacuum cleaners that I've borrowed from friends, but the Shark reviews, while generally positive, seemed to be a few percentage points lower than the Bissell reviews. More importantly, a large number of people complain about extremely poor customer service in the Shark vacuum reviews, and I simply will not support a company that does not stand behind its products. To be fair, I later spoke with a friend who had a recent experience with Shark customer service and had a good story to tell. Nonetheless, the large number of complaints in the reviews about poor customer service should cause concern. Having ruled out Shark from my list of potential models, I turned my attention to Bissells, which appeared to have some of the lowest percentages of negative reviews across the board, with many of the negative reviews citing threads and hair clogging the brush roller. Based on the reviews I read, this model did not appear to have as much of a problem. So far, this vacuum hasn't caused me any problems. br>br>Other complaints about this model include its weight and clumsiness of operation. I have to say that now that I'm over 50, my perception of what is heavy and clumsy has shifted significantly. I recall the clumsy vacuum cleaners of the past, and this model is a true sports car in comparison to what I'm used to. It's light, maneuverable, and relatively simple to get into tight spaces. It may be considered unwieldy when compared to a cordless stick vacuum or some of the very light Shark vacuums. br>br>On shag or high pile carpet, some people complained that it was difficult to push. I didn't have that problem because my carpet is low pile, except on a small shag throw rug, where the large amount of suction required a bit of force to push the vacuum across while trying to hold the rug down with one foot. br>br>This vacuum appeared to have excellent suction. Some claim that the suction is inferior to that of a Shark or Dyson vacuum. I honestly couldn't say based on my limited experience with the other vacuums. This one appears to have as much suction as any vacuum I've ever used; I'm just not sure how accurate a comparison can be made. br>br>Some people say it's difficult to use the hose's various tools. The hose is a little short, but I wouldn't want it flopping around on the vacuum when I'm using it upright, so it appears to be something you just have to live with. It will tip over if you use the hose tools, but the Lift-It will not. Because of the off feature, which allows you to separate the canister from the carpet roller base, this is essentially a non-functional product. For me, this is an issue. br>br>The intelligent design of this Bissell is something I really like. Everything appears to have been carefully considered in terms of efficiency and usability. I'm not sure how well all of the plastic parts will hold up over time, but most vacuum cleaners appear to be made of light-weight plastic components, so I'm hoping for the best. The cord appears to be a little thin and stiff. br>br> Although I understand that more flexible cords are more expensive, I believe Bissell should have used a thicker, more flexible cord on this unit. br>br>The canister's small size is my only real complaint. I ended up dumping it four or five times in two or three hours, but my carpet was still filthy. Bottom line, this vacuum did a great job on my old, low pile carpet, as well as a decent job on a few tiled areas, and it was easy to dump without inhaling a lot of dust. br>br> The upholstery/stair brush attachment appeared to be quite effective as well. So far, I'm happy with my purchase. My main concern is how well it will hold up over time (particularly the plastic components). If it fails within the first couple of years, I will undoubtedly deduct stars. I'll do it again in five years if it's still going strong. Give it a five-star rating without reservation.

I strongly advise you to buy this book
5/5

I'll begin by saying that before purchasing this vacuum, I did extensive research, read numerous reviews, and watched numerous video reviews. I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO This vacuum was intended to take the place of a high-priced Dyson; I despise it with all my heart! It's the worst vacuum I've ever owned, and I was mortified when I discovered how bad of a job it did when I first bought it. I now maintain a very clean environment, as I dislike clutter. Despite the fact that I have two cats, I vacuum every other day at the very least. I'm a bit OCD when it comes to cleanliness. The photos below were taken on the first day of vacuuming my 1,000-square-foot apartment. The canister had been filled TWO TIMES! Even though I had vacuumed with the Dyson the day before! The suction is incredible, and it can easily pick up a quarter. It's light, and the high-pile option glides over my high-pile rug with ease. My only criticism of this vacuum is that it does not appear to do a particularly good job cleaning the hardwood floors in my entry and kitchen. However, I've never found a vacuum that works well on hard wood floors, so this isn't a deal breaker for me. After two months of use, the machine has never tangled my hair. It works wonders on the cat hair on the cat tree, making it look brand new! When using the spinning attachment with the hand suction, make sure the vacuum is set to low pile; if it's set to high pile, it won't suction as well and will stop the blades from spinning when you push down. I don't think it's any louder than any other vacuum I've had, and it's probably quieter than most, including the Dyson! It has incredible maneuverability and glides and turns effortlessly. Overall, I'm very happy with this vacuum and would recommend it to anyone!.

THE FILTERS ARE THE FILTERS ARE THE FILTERS In all seriousness - The most difficult part is determining which size and model replacement filters are available
3/5

The information is not included in the vacuum's instruction manual, and there are no replacement filters listed for this model on their website. It's impossible to even look at Bissell's filter inventory in general. It is extremely annoying. Aside from that, it appears to function well - However, we would eventually have to purchase filter replacements. br>br>I'll most likely return it.
