Cleaning the brushroll is not a simple task. Tools are required.
The path is 13" long and the roller brush is 12" long. 5" is the measurement from the outside edge to the outside edge.
There is no hose for cleaning the corners, but there is a small attachment for cleaning a small area.
It doesn't on mine, or at least it isn't automatic; I recently snapped a belt while using the hose because the roller became stuck.

I then went on to do two more of these passes (now that's embarrassing!). After all of that, I'm EXTREMELY pleased with this vacuum! I was apprehensive because it wasn't the most expensive vacuum, and I'd previously purchased two vacuums in the same price range that had failed miserably. On the other hand, this vacuum cleaner is fantastic! The suction power is obviously incredible, it's extremely maneuverable, and the "edge to edge" feature is something I had no idea I was missing! My long hair is always wrapped around the brush roll, and after three passes, there was nothing! After the third pass, my arm was definitely tired, so I wish it was a little lighter. I'd also like an automatic brush roll stop when I use the hose, but overall, I'm amazed at how much dirt and hair was pulled up! I'm very pleased with this vacuum, and I hope it continues to perform well for a long time!!.
When I examined the vacuum's bottom - There was a plume of smoke rising from the chimney. I've had good luck with Bissell machines in the past, so perhaps this was a one-time thing. off, but not without serious consideration! My vacuum cleaner isn't going to catch fire in my house.
But it's a huge letdown. It does what it's supposed to do in terms of suction, but the design is flawed in general, and I'm kicking myself for buying it. Let's begin with the rewind function: br>br> The ability to press a button and have the cord suck right back in is very appealing, but the cord on this model is in such an awkward place. You have to keep picking it up as you vacuum or you'll run over the cord, and you have to keep wiggling the cord around multiple times to get it to actually rewind when you press the cord rewind button. br>br>The attachments are as follows: Because I have two cats, having fur attachments is a plus if they work. Because the hose is so short, it topples over when you try to reach into a corner. The brush and rotating fur attachment are useless; there is no suction when the brush is on, and the fur eraser stops spinning as soon as it touches fabric. I should also point out that the attachments do not stay in place while vacuuming. They each fall to the ground one by one. On my former roommate's pet rewind, this did not happen.
Only one flaw: it's a fantastic little vacuum cleaner, almost as good as my old Dyson Animal - There is only one flaw: the vacuum's base is black, leaving black marks on baseboards. I would have given it a 5* if they had used a non-rubbery plastic or a white color.
Prior to ordering this one, I had a Hoover windtunnel vacuum and was torn between getting another Hoover and getting a Bissell. This is one I'm glad I bought! The photo was taken in my living room and bedroom at one point. Even half of that was picked up by my old vacuum! The vacuum cleaner is lighter, easier to maneuver, quieter, and smaller than the one I had before. It was very easy to assemble, and the price is unbeatable! It would be nice if it had a swivel head, but for the price, it's hard to beat. Now that I have a newborn at home, I want to make sure my carpets are clean, and I have no doubts that I will be able to do so with this vacuum. br>br>I'm so glad I did my research and bought the Bissell because it does exactly what it claims to do.
That is not the case with this vacuum. Following my vacuuming, I don't feel like I've been to the gym. The massive mound of hair in the chamber demonstrates that it is working efficiently.
It was purchased with the intention of using it on a carpet. Hairs on carpet can be easily removed with this product. It's fine for hard surfaces, but the thick base makes it difficult to reach certain areas.
I like how the cord is self-wrapped inside the canister and how easy it is to empty it without using a bag. It was extremely simple to put together and was extremely light in weight. I've paid a lot more for other vacuums that have ended up in the vacuum graveyard, so I'm hoping this one lasts a long time.
