Selected User Reviews For Rubbermaid Brilliance Food Storage Container, Salad and Snack Lunch Combo Kit, Clear, 9 Piece Set 1997843
I've used these containers before and they're pretty good; they don't seem to stain easily, seal well, and haven't cracked yet. br>br>However, I wish I had taken the time to look at the measurements. The pictures are deceptive in that they give the impression that the containers are larger than they are, which is especially true of the salad and sandwich containers. Normal-sized bread slices will not fit in the container as shown, and the salad container will only fit a small amount of salad unless it is crushed completely. It's fine if you just want a small side salad, but it's far too small for a full-fledged meal salad.
perfect perfect perfectbr>bought 3 sets for 3 lunch bagsbr>husband and 2 kidsbr>1 of them was a step up with the larger container being for salad w/ a dressing holder that fit into a 2nd layer to container to hold veggies cheese for salad etc. br>They are nice looking if that matters to anyone and they are just perfect for my family and for their lunch bagsbr>see photos for what fitsbr>.
In particular, the microwaveable/freezable varieties. Tupperware has long been a favorite of mine. Specifically, the rocker-top microwave/freezer containers. The issue with Tupperware is that the lids don't always fit the same type of container from a previous year. Finding the right lid was always a pain. All of the lids fit in the Brilliance line (I hope that makes sense). I've put everything from liquids to pasta sauce in my Brilliance container and there have been no leaks or stains. I microwaved them and then put them in the refrigerator. I haven't frozen them yet (because I haven't had to). I gave away all of my Tupperware after using the Brilliance container for a week. There's no muss or fuss when it comes to putting the lids on or sealing them. The empty containers can be stacked one on top of the other. I was able to put them in the dishwasher without damaging the seals. For the past three months, I've been using them. I purchased additional sets from BJ's when they were on sale. In one review, a woman claimed that she cut her finger when closing the lid with her thumb. It's made of plastic, to begin with. It gives a little, but with enough force, it can be broken. Second, when closing the lid, you should press down on the edge rather than the middle. There is nothing wrong with the way these containers are built. You can also see what's inside of them, which is a plus. The dark Tupperware containers, on the other hand, are a different story.
The image is unmistakably false. The container is much smaller than it appears, and I will be returning this purchase. br>It also had missing pieces, so the description isn't entirely accurate.
These were purchased to replace a set of glass travel storage containers that I had previously purchased. Let me start by saying that we should talk about lightening the load first. These are a lot lighter, which I really like now. Second, if you use the inside-the-container inserts, they don't spill out. They don't stain either, despite the fact that they aren't glass. I put chili in one and hot sauce in the other, then washed them both in the dishwasher. The fact that the rubber on the tops does not fall out is one of my favorite features.
These containers are perfect for me. They're crystal clear, long-lasting, and leak-proof. proof. The following are the factors that drew me to these containers:
1. I enjoy carrying glass containers in my lunch bag, but they can be cumbersome. DURABILITY is a key feature of these containers.
2. I had a couple of clear containers with a colorful lid. Because I was too lazy to open the cloudy containers when I refrigerated my food in those containers, it went bad. As a result, the Rubbermaid Brilliance container's top and bottom are both clear.
A salad in the middle of the workday always feels like a special treat, and I love that this container makes it simple to transport an entire salad "kit" to enjoy at work. I bought a bunch more of the salad-dressing containers because the lid seals well. sized containers (without the salad tray) so that I could throw them in the dishwasher and only have to wash the salad tray once a day and swap it out for different containers. br>br>However, there is one annoying feature: the tray settles into the container and can be difficult to remove when it's time to assemble your salad. I experimented with a variety of methods before settling on cutting strips of parchment paper to use as a "sling" to lift the salad tray out. I suppose a strip of string or something would be more reusable, but in an office setting, the parchment slings are easier to deal with (I can simply compost them). I keep hoping that I'll be able to find a small container that's just the right height to act as a "spacer" beneath the tray to keep it from settling in, but I haven't yet. The leafs themselves might hold up the tray if you stuffed the bottom with a lot of a more robust green, but a small amount of a softer green like arugula or baby greens simply compresses and allows the tray to sink too far.
With this cooler, I use the following two containers: With just enough room on top for three 12 oz sodas and a small ice pack, this bag is perfect. For the past two months, I've been using this system five days a week. I bring salad to work three times a week. I'm a big guy who weighs around 225 pounds and eats a lot. It can hold a decent-sized salad once you figure out how to mash the lettuce before adding the tray on top. My croutons, cheese, and bacon bits are all on the top tray, along with just enough dressing. The second container forces me to include some extra items, such as grapes and nuts (as shown in the photo). This way, I'll have a snack on hand if I get hungry later in the day. I've used these for soups, pork chops, mashed potatoes, and other dishes with no problems, and I like that I can leave the lid on and reduce the chance of funk getting into my food at work (it's really that bad, and no, I'm not cleaning it). The seals and latches are not a problem for me. There are no stains or warping in this item. They still have the appearance of being brand new.
