This did not work, no matter how much I wished it would. It's more work than doing it the old fashioned way. When you squeeze the bottle, the batter seeps out of the cap and struggles to come out. I had purchased one of these years ago at a school fundraiser but had misplaced it when I relocated. I'm on the lookout for a good one. This, however, was not the case.
The bottom lid wouldn't tighten up. When the bottle was squeezed, air would always escape from around the bottom (non-returnable). The bottle's (pen) side. In the absence of enough pressure, The batter refused to dispense even when it was turned upside down. At the same time, I purchased another brand of cupcake pen, which I used first because it was SO much better than manually filling mini-cupcakes. This was such a colossal letdown, cupcake wells. However, there is a more well-known cupcake pen brand. This is a fantastic concept, but the execution is lacking.
I'm so disappointed that I didn't make it back in time. I bought it but didn't try it out right away because I didn't make pancakes. As you can see, it was a complete failure, but I didn't rush to file my return. Unless you use a very thin pancake batter, which I don't do because mine isn't particularly thick. It may or may not be homemade (mine are), but it may work for you. I was so excited to give this a try, but the batter barely fit through the opening.
The product is neat and the concept is great, but the lids on both sides are lacking. They'll need to add a seal to make it work properly. Because air is released at the opposite end, the product does not turn out well.
It appeals to me. There will be no messes with the pancake batter. My only minor complaint is that when you stop pouring, the suction makes a very loud noise, similar to when you're using the last of the mayonnaise. Aside from that, everything is fine. Oh, and if there was a blender ball included, that would be even better. It was a perfect match for the one I already had.
The fact that the unused batter kept well in the refrigerator was one of my favorite features of this dispenser. It also worked well for squeezing the batter as it was being dispensed. There are no issues.
It's quick and simple to do, and it's simple to clean. br>However, after an hour or so in here, the batter develops a strange aftertaste, which I assumed was due to the fact that it was new or that I didn't wash it thoroughly enough - However, this does not appear to be the case. There's always this weird off taste after a thorough scrubbing and several refills with new batter. br>br>I should be clear - I'm not saying it's bad. It's not disgusting; it's just a little off and strange; it's an acceptable product, but I'll be looking for another option that won't change the flavor.
I tossed it in the trash. To combine the batter and the water, I shook them together. It wasn't easy, but I persevered. The batter then spilled out the sides of the lid when I tried to squeeze it into the pan. You'll save money and time if you use this method.
