The nest is quite big, but we get a lot of eggs out of it! The shelf moved easily to accommodate it, it is very stable, and it lists easily. I would highly recommend this product, even if it is more expensive. There is also that little egg cup with the chef's.
My favorite part about this organizer is the egg holder. This makes it easy to use the eggs in the order they were brought. Despite this, the support bars for the slide are too far apart, and any eggs smaller than the oval or large models fall through and become stuck, making the design a complete failure. If you could make one that has more mesh or has support bars closer together, I'd love it.
The one I received did not fit my eggs, so I returned it and got a different one. In this case, the chute was too narrow to hold chicken eggs, as it was too short and wide. You might be able to get away with it if you have only bantams or small layers of eggs.
The concept is brilliant. There are a lot of good things about this except the eggs don't roll down to replace the one you take off.
Now there is no guessing on which egg to use first. We do have to assist and slide the eggs down, but this is probably due to the variation in the size of eggs. The stand for the counter is cute. The fridge room is freed up.
I haven't yet used it with an egg opener, but it works great. A gift is what the whole thing is. A quick update
I gave it to my mother for my birthday. The egg holder holds the eggs nicely, however they are not easily rolled down. You will need to move each egg down. Eggs are not perfectly round and I would not expect them to roll like a golf ball, so I cannot deduct any stars.
I like this little holder a lot! The fact that it's green makes me happy. My kitchen is matched to it. This bag has a handle, so if you're interested in hanging it, you can do so.
Keeping your eggs together on your counter is easy with this. The egg opener was supposed to come with this, but it did not. Neither the eggs nor the mice roll down the slope.
