I'm not sure if I agree or disagree - I will tell you that depending on how heavy the trap is (and keep in mind that it will get heavier if it gets wet), I have hung some very large items on the siding in our screened-in porch. (large clock/barometer, large metal wall decorations, hanger for my battery-powered blower, large water-filled planter) To keep rain out, there is a rain-proof screen on the back wall. Hook failure has never been an issue for me.
Yes, these are very effective. The money spent was well spent.
Even with the vinyl siding lip, they stand out.
I haven't done any of that. Because I'm not familiar with that type of siding, I can't recommend it.

Today I made use of the first one. I finally got around to hanging a metal wall hanging I bought last spring outside. Finally, I was able to hang something on our vinyl siding because I couldn't find the right hook before. I didn't want to damage the siding by drilling a hole in it. Obviously, magnetic hooks aren't an option. Outdoor 3M hooks were also insufficient. We finally put our wall hanging back in the garage after it fell off a few times last spring. Our vinyl siding has a horizontal seam that the hook fits into perfectly. It was simple to erect. Just a little wiggling and some light pressure. It's snug in there and won't budge unless I remove it. I told my husband that there are five more hooks in the pack I have, so I'll have to go out and buy five more things to hang up. Ha ha!.
Without having to drill holes in the siding, the hooks made it simple to hang these items. For the time being, I'll give them four stars and reserve judgment on how they perform when string winds are present.
I had no idea such a thing existed until I was trying to figure out how to hang brooms and mops on the wall of a screened-in porch with vinyl siding. Because the siding isn't completely smooth, nails and suction type hooks weren't an option. These hooks ended up being the ideal solution. They're simple to set up and take down - a maximum of ten seconds and they're holding my cleaning supplies, which include an industrial push broom and a heavier Swiffer wet jet-cleaning machine. No issues. It's so basic, but it's exactly what I'm looking for. These hooks are an excellent choice for hanging items on vinyl siding.
These were perfect for hanging my front-of-the-house ornamental metal arch. They are simple to install and remove, and they do not cause any damage to the vinyl siding. Because the metal arch was too thick to fit in the hook area, I simply attached it to the arch with cleat zip ties and hung it from the zip ties. This week, we've had gusts of up to 20 mph, and it's still holding up beautifully. Excellent product at a reasonable cost!.
They are, however, thick and sturdy, which surprised me! It takes some shimmying to get the hooks to catch under the siding lip, but once they do, it appears to be very sturdy and heavy. Siding clips are very nice! I recommend these to anyone who wants to hang items on the outside of their house without damaging the siding. The hook's edge slides under the overlapping siding edge and hangs on the edge held by the top siding layer, which is lapped over the lower siding piece. All of this is accomplished without causing any damage or requiring the use of any special adhesives. That's fantastic!.
On my screened porch, it's perfect for holding some wall decor. The sun is made of wood and is quite heavy, but it manages to keep the sun in place. Installing it was a breeze.
They're not only simple to use, but they also hold a surprising amount of weight for such a small metal hook. These are where I keep my "Home Sweet Home" sign and metal mason jar, as well as seasonal decor and Christmas decorations. This is my second set, as I also use them to hang signs and other items on my screened-in porch. It's perfect for Christmas, garland, pine roping, or any other type of decoration!.
These hooks are fine, but they weren't strong enough to hold the clock I was trying to hang on my vinyl-sided sunroom wall. However, this is due to the fact that the clock's back had a poor hole for hanging it. The hook had nothing to do with it. It was the clock, which had been thrown together on the cheap. By attaching a wire to the back of the clock, I was able to make it work. So, now that the wire is hung on the hook, everything is fine. They are, however, simple to set up. br>br> I can see how they could be used for a variety of other purposes, so I'm glad I have them now.
