Questions & Answers
You should be able to attach the magnet hook to your steel door without difficulty. Before you order, check to see if you already have a refrigerator magnet or another type of magnet at home.
It has a diameter of about 4 inches. I believe the magnet and hanger would both be 6 inches long. It has a lot of power. It really works!
These are what I'm looking at for my front door's window. Pinterest claims that if you get two of them, they will hold through the glass. If you don't have a window treatment, you'll just need something to hang on the inside to hide the hook.

I hope the person who came up with this is extremely wealthy! This magnet is extremely powerful, and it comes with a soft pad on the back to prevent damage to your door. It's also very attractive! I'll be buying another one once I've painted my back door and found a new wreath for it!.
I purchased it with the intention of using it to hang a handcrafted wooden sign on my front door. For a few weeks, it worked fine, but the magnet would occasionally slide down an inch or two when the door was opened and closed. Then one day I came home to find that the metal hook had come loose from its backing and had slid all the way down my door, scraping the paint off. Now, I suppose the heat from the sun melted the glue and caused this, but since this is supposed to be a metal door, you'd think they could find a way to adhere the protective backing without using melted glue. My once all-black door now resembles a massive bird turd. It was a waste of money, and now I have to sand and repaint my door, which will take even longer and cost me more money. This product was a huge letdown for me.
I figured it was worth a shot for the price. I put it on my refrigerator as a joke when it arrived. It was the most difficult thing for me to get rid of! I'm a sucker for over-the-top wreaths, and this magnet didn't disappoint. It's been holding my colossal wreath for 5 days and hasn't moved an inch!.
This is fantastic! The magnets appear to be very powerful, which is a good thing because the wind here can be quite strong at times. I bought two and tucked one at the top and the other at the bottom of my handcrafted wreath, pulling them taut. It's very sturdy, and the two hooks keep it in place well enough that it doesn't move when I open or close the door. What a fantastic purchase! (I'll post an update if they don't hold up to the Midwest wind and weather, but I doubt it. ) br>br>11/10/2020 EDIT: We've had a particularly windy and stormy day just two days later. The wreath remained firmly in place! I believe that using the two hooks was extremely beneficial. If the wreath had only been hung by a single hook, I believe it would have been blown away.
However, after leaving the magnet on the door for about 24 hours with nothing on it, it has not moved. This month has seen strong winds, and the wreaths on the front doors have been blown away. These things don't budge once they're in place. So, if they don't want to stay right away, remember to tape them to the door, leave them alone for a few minutes, and then hang whatever you want on there for the rest of the season.
A word of caution if you're planning on hanging a wreath on a glass storm door with two of them. Because these magnets don't attract each other, you'll need to remove the hook from one and use the non-attractive one instead. For the back, there is a felted side. Aside from that, they seem to do well with a light wreath; I have yet to try a heavier one.
the- I decided against using door hooks because they would obstruct my view and look bad. This magnet hook is extremely durable, and it adhered to my door perfectly. Because it has a soft pad on the back, it won't scratch the paint. ) I was pleasantly surprised by the hook's quality and appearance. It could easily support a wreath that is heavier than the one I used. A big ole Christmas wreath is something I'm looking forward to!.
br>As you can see in the photo, I have a 40-inch wooden wreath on my mantel. a lot of weight.
