Your possessions are going to FALL! In the first half of 2019, I purchased a large quantity of various command strips. In order to sell our old house, we were painting the interior. I wanted to put everything back up on the wall so there would be no holes where I had taken it down. br>br>In July of this year, we moved into our new home. With the exception of the heaviest items, I used Command Strips on almost everything I hung on the wall. My walls have texture, but they're mostly flat, so I tried to place the Strips where they'd have a flat surface. I also followed the instructions and used alcohol to clean the walls. They're only supposed to be used on flat surfaces, according to 3M. Oh, my goodness! Aside from cabinets, where else in the house does one find a completely flat surface? br>br>Anyway, because I underestimated the weight of everything, I used larger Command Strips and placed one on each corner of everything except the hooks. My belongings began to fall off the walls in October of 2020. In a letter to 3M, I explained that it was my fault for using them on textured walls. My wall decor was then screwed and nailed up. I did, however, have a short-term, light-weight solution. I needed a light-weight decoration to hang, so I peeled off a Command Strip and discovered it was completely devoid of any adhesive! I tried a different size and it was exactly the same! I began inspecting them all and discovered that the majority of them were missing adhesive, which explained why my belongings were falling apart. Should they poop out like that because there isn't an expiration date on them? No, I do not believe that is true. I responded to 3M by writing that I no longer wanted to use their product and that I wanted to send them everything I had left so they could issue a refund. They sent me a return label, so I'm sending everything back! br>br>By the way, I kept them inside the house so they wouldn't be exposed to direct sunlight or extremes in temperature.
I used these to hang lights on the balcony of my apartment. at all times It's been more than a month, and they're still going strong. I bought this because it had the highest weight rating of any outdoor hook I could find. br>br>The hook moves, which isn't mentioned in the product description. The metal hook is not flat against the plastic back, as you can see in my photo. In my application, this works because it moves in the breeze rather than being stationary. to become more rigid It would add tension to the plastic back if it didn't move, making it more likely to break. br>br>If this hook can hold tongs, it can certainly hold decorative lights on a patio ceiling. Just make sure to read the pre-cleaning instructions carefully.
I wanted to put metal baskets in my shower to hold all of our bathing and showering necessities. These command strips were ideal because they stay adhered (is that a word?) even when wet or in a damp environment. Make sure the area you're sticking them on is completely clean to get the best results. Before I installed the tile, I scrubbed the area thoroughly. br>br>Command strips are one of my favorite things to do. I believe these would work in a 100% dry environment, but I used them to hang some very lightweight things on the walls in my bathroom (a showercap, headband, and a small handheld% The walls in there are identical to the walls in my room, with the same type of paint, etc. , but this is my bathroom, which I use every day, and when I take a shower, there will obviously be steam in the room, just as there would be in any other bathroom. I hung one, let it settle for 24 hours as instructed, and then hung a small mirror on it, which must have weighed less than 1 pound, despite the fact that the hooks' package claims they can hold 2 pounds. I've never had a problem with a Command hook before, and this one is no different. These appear to be quite powerful. They're long enough to hold several items with handles at once, and I'm confident that if I pull down the tabs correctly, I'll be able to remove them without difficulty. They also appeal to me in terms of appearance. Because they're flatter than other hooks, it's almost as if the metal is protruding from the wall. If you need to hang something from the ceiling, the hooks can be flipped upwards. It's nice to have a product that is so dependable all of the time - As I previously stated, Command hooks have never been a problem for me.
These were purchased to secure bird netting to the asbestos siding on our house. I'm surprised it's still functional. We couldn't drill into the siding because of the asbestos, but we did need a way to get the bird netting over the blueberries. The siding has a rough texture to it. br> These little guys are doing fantastically well. They were easy to stick on and have stayed on for several rainy months. There aren't any holes in the asbestos, and the blueberries aren't being eaten by birds. I just placed an order for four more for the camper.
