I simply installed a one-inch rod in these (long, sliding glass door windows - They seem to be resting well enough in these hooks (I can't seem to find a smaller diameter rod). However, a 7/8" or 3/4" rod would be the most comfortable fit. Because I'm a little worried the rod will pop out of the hooks, I'm thinking about just putting some tape on it. They're a little close to the wall, but they'll suffice in a dorm room or anywhere else where screws aren't allowed. Simply ensure that you adhere to the instructions. After hanging them on the wall, wait at least an hour before putting any weight on them.
I got the medium size hook, which can hold up to 3 pounds. Up to 5 pounds can be held on the large hook.
Doubtful! Other command hooks are recommended for outside use; I used these on painted concrete walls and they were on the floor the next day.
One and a half inch in width. Three and three-eighths of an inch in length and one-quarter of an inch in thickness.

I live in an apartment and wanted to hang some curtains without using nails or screws or drilling holes in the wall. These hooks were simple to use, and I like the fact that they can be reused; All you need to do now is get some more large command strips for the back! br>br>Here's a shot of the hooks that keep a light curtain rod in place. You'll need a rod with a small enough diameter to fit through the hook. Amazon recommended a rod, which I used. br>br>I also have a photo of the entire setup, including the curtains! It's strong and sturdy, and it keeps my curtains in place!.
I heard a strange popping noise while sleeping, which turned out to be my curtain rod breaking. This is the FIFTH time in a row that these Command strips have let me down. Over the last year, four pictures have fallen off the walls, one frame breaking and another causing a dent in the wall. These curtain holders, which had only been in place since February, were the ones that failed this time. I purchased three holders, each of which is rated to hold five pounds. The curtain rod is 2. 25 pounds in weight. 3 pounds, with the curtains weighing slightly less than 3 pounds. As a result, these three Command curtain holders should have been able to handle the job with ease. Instead, the center one dislodged itself, ripping the wall apart in the process. I live in an apartment, so instead of drilling holes, I decided to use Command strips. As a result, the walls have suffered more damage than if I had simply drilled holes in them. And I've applied and held them in place for one minute after cleaning the walls with isopropyl rubbing alcohol and letting the area dry. Because I live in Southern California, I assumed that when the pictures began to fall off the walls, it was because of the extreme heat. I did, however, sleep with the air conditioner on. It wasn't particularly warm inside. I'm angry and disappointed, and that pretty much sums up how I'm feeling right now. And 3M must be aware that these are untrustworthy. It's worth noting that the usage instructions state that the item should not be hung above the bed. What makes you think that? Because they're aware that these strips aren't always effective at keeping things affixed to the walls.
I used two of these hooks to support a light weight curtain rod over a 120" window holding up six sheer curtain panels, and after a full week, there are still no issues. I couldn't be more pleased with the outcome. I hung them on the wall, gave them 24 hours to adhere, and voila - they were done. My curtains are lovely and have no holes in them. Although the curtains are a little close to the wall, I can still open them if I want to. Curtains that are frequently opened and closed are not something I would recommend.
in the method Saldy, I trudged over to Amazon in search of a tacky, plastic fixture for my lovely front entryway. br>Imagine my delight when I came across command hooks thatbr> 1) looked stylishbr> 2) matched my decor (brushed Venetian bronze)br> 3) were made of SOLID METAL! 4) could support a weight of up to 5 pounds. Because that's exactly what I discovered. These items are also quite heavy! It's simple to put together; simply follow the instructions on the back. Command hooks, thank you!.
I've been buying Command strips and hooks like crazy since I moved into an apartment. In a place I don't own, I want to leave as little evidence of my presence as possible. br>br>Anyway, in a review for one of the other Command strips (I forget which one), a woman said that rubbing the area with isopropyl alcohol and then *waiting 24 hours before adhering the hooks* has always worked for her. br>br>She's been dead on so far. I installed these over the course of a weekend, putting the strips in place and then waiting for 24 hours to put them up. It's only been a few days, but so far there have been no issues. The same can be said for the other Command hooks I've hung (for pictures, mugs, and keys) - All of the ones I've been waiting for for a long time are still holding up. br>br>A couple days later, another one came down after only a few hours of waiting. I had no idea until I began to wonder about the crash. I've learned a valuable lesson, which I'll continue to apply in the future.
These looked great and were very sturdy, so I thought they were the best. We used them to hang our stockings by the fireplace, and they looked great. When I went to remove them after the holidays, they refused to come off the way they were supposed to. I had to pry them off with a butter knife, and there were chunks of paint everywhere. Because we are currently renting, I will be the one to foot the bill. I'm not having a good time with this.
Read on for more information. where there is a hollow area around the window. If you follow the directions, these will stick to the heavily textured wall. Wipe the area with alcohol first, then follow the rest of the package's instructions. I like how the curtain is so close to the window seal with these that there are no gaps. They look fantastic, and no one would ever guess they aren't real rod brackets.
