Bamboo is used to build the rack shelves. The same review was posted on another website. Don't worry, it's exactly as it appears in the photo. What a fantastic item!
My 12-year-old son put it together fairly quickly.
The illustration is correct. As seen in the photo, there are metal bars. Mine is one of my favorites, and I use it to store the toys of my grandchildren.

This isn't a bamboo shelf like it says it is. It's made entirely of metal and only has two thin bamboo parts. All of the shelves are metal, and while the shape is similar to the photo, this is not the same item; I would not have bought it if I had known.
I was skeptical about the device after reading some of the older reviews, but I decided to give it a shot. I haven't been let down thus far.
- The bamboo shelves (mine didn't have the ugly metal shelves) are being shipped as of September 2018.
- The instructions and tools were included in the package, which made assembly a breeze.
- To be fair, I've only had the unit for a few days, but it appears to be solid and stable.
- The fabric is of good quality. Nothing on the bamboo is flaking or chipping, and nothing is bent or warped. br>br>Perhaps mine was just a lucky break?.
The product arrived as described, and it looks great; the issues that had been reported previously appeared to be resolved. It has a nice appearance, is well-made, and the shelves are particularly appealing to me. After a shower, I use them to hang up my towel and clothes. For delicate laundry, I'm considering placing a basket on the bottom shelf. I was pleasantly surprised to discover that my scale, which measures 12" x 12", worked perfectly. 5" is the perfect size to fit under the bottom shelf. It should fit if it's at least 14" wide by 17" long. I sort into more than two categories, but doubling up on categories has worked out just fine.
This was a great addition to my laundry setup for someone like me who is OCD. It's simple to separate your whites, colors, and everyday clothes. For added convenience, each bag can be removed and taken to the laundry room. Additionally, the shelves provide additional storage space.
This is something that I have in my room. It performs admirably, provides additional storage, and is far more appealing than all-metal units. I've dismantled it once to relocate it and then reassembled it.
At least for me, putting this together was a challenge. Given that there is some coordination, two people would have an easier time. The final set up looks great, but it isn't very sturdy (there isn't enough framework because the bags need to be able to move around), so it is wobbly. Understandable, but don't expect to do much with the shelves. Given the price, I had hoped for more weight and stability.
I had the version without a shelf before, but I really wanted the shelf version so I could lay out the next day's clothes ahead of time.
It appeals to my tastes. It took some time to put together, but it was well worth the effort and is very sturdy.
