I thought about how much easier it could be if you could keep it assembled as you put it away, and I found a bag that does just that. It fits perfectly in my bag even though my tree is 6 1/2' long! I took the ornaments and feet off the tree, but actually left it lights on and tight. The tree fit very snug from end to end, but there was plenty of room around the outside to store other things, including tree skirts, stockings, and other things.
