The material is ideal for long-term use. I hesitated to buy these because one commenter said they were made of cardboard, but I'm glad I did because they're good solid masonite. I've used cardboard cut from boxes to wrap my lights for decades, so I'm glad I did. They're made of Masonite, a man-made board that's extremely strong. It can support a lot of weight and, unlike cardboard boxes, does not bend or tear. Of course, you should avoid getting them wet. They're also quite large. Purchase was excellent, and the price was reasonable.

These are fantastic at organizing and detangling all of my lights. My only gripe is that they're a little tall, so you'll need a taller-than-average storage box to keep them in, or the lid will not close.
