Questions & Answers

On a single reel, how many feet of light (mini led) can you fit? How many reels does this unit come with, and how many can be stored in the bag?

On each reel, I was able to fit two 300 bulb pro grade mini led strands (which are heavier and bulkier than standard mini lights). I'm not sure how many feet that is, but there are a lot of lights there. I can fit five light strands on each reel with the standard 100 or 150 light strands I use indoors if I wrap them carefully. I purchased four of these to replace a large plastic bin that was so heavy that I couldn't lift it and had to drag it around until it wore a hole in the bottom. This is a significant step forward. However, I require another, and they are currently unavailable for this year.

Is it possible to use C9 lights with this?

Yes! I added an 80-count strand of c9 bulbs, which fit perfectly. I made sure to wrap the lights in such a way that they would be as compact as possible, and they worked out beautifully.

What is the best way to roll them? Is there some sort of mechanism that allows the spool to spin, or is it just a spool?

There is no mechanism; you must roll them by hand. It's simple to accomplish. Take a few strands of lights and hold them together. My son is putting lights on the tree while holding the spool in one hand and unrolling lights with the other. Lights will no longer be tangled. I strongly suggest it.

What is the maximum number of feet of mini lights that each reel can hold? A simple question that the manufacturer should have answered. ?

Because this was a gift, I am unable to respond to your question.

I just got these reels in the mail
3/5

The following are the deminsons shown in. I just got these reels in the mail. Each reel is 10 1/2 inches in diameter, not 12 inches, as depicted in the Amazon advertisement. Furthermore, the ad fails to mention that each reel is only 3 1/4 inch wide and can hold a 326-foot string of fairy led lights, which are extremely small bulbs. Expect a 75-foot string if you're using mini led lights; the longer the bulb, the shorter the string. The other ad, which comes with two reels per bag, has a diameter of 12 inches and a width of just over 6 inches.

They are just a tad more expensive than I believe they should be
4/5

What's the total number of reels you'll receive? I got three of them. How big are the reels? br>br>How big are the reels? A little more than 10". It isn't 12 inches. Are the reels made of stainless steel? br>br>Can you tell me if they're made of stainless steel? No, but they're well-painted, and I don't intend to use the reels outside in any case. Will all three reels fit in the bag? br>br>Will there be enough room in the bag for all three reels? All three reels without lights will fit into the bag easily once assembled. The amount of light that extends out the sides of the reels determines whether or not they will all fit. How do you put them together? br>br>How do you do it? Each reel is made up of two screwed-together halves. Unscrew one pair, flip one half over, and screw the other half back together. Is there a handle on the reels that you can turn to raise the lights? No. There is no mechanism that allows you to turn the wheel. You take the reel in your hands and wrap the light strings around it by hand. If you have two people, it's a lot easier. br>br>Can you tell me how many feet of light string each reel holds? Because the C6 bulbs on the left are smaller than the C6 bulbs on the right, the reel on the left can accommodate an additional 100 lights. The multicolor bulbs aren't C7 or C9 bulbs, by the way. C6 is their designation. Photo #5 br>br> While all three reels (orange, blue, and multicolor) will fit in the bag, you will not be able to close it if you put as many lights on a reel as I do. But that isn't an issue for me. The reels, not the bag, were what I was looking for. Are you being paid for this review? br>br>Are you being paid for this review? No. I believe the bag and reels are overpriced, but they are the only reels available that will perform the task at hand.

Storage is simple and light
5/5

This made putting the lights away a breeze! Next year, I'm excited to see how simple it is to take down and replace the lights. When I was reading the reviews, I noticed that there were a lot of questions about how many people this could hold, and I couldn't find any answers to that either, so I didn't know how many to order. br>br>Each order includes one storage bag as well as three wheels. Although the wheels are labeled as 12", they are actually 10". I was able to fit two 50-light strands of large bulb lights on one spool (wheel). I put two 100-light strands of the small bulbs in the second with plenty of room left over. On the third, I arranged my final 50-light strand of large bulbs alongside three 50-light strands of small bulbs, leaving plenty of room. br>br>The large bulbs protrude from the wheels between and to the sides. So it's a little tricky getting the bulbs into the bag, and you're afraid you'll squish them. I was able to fit them all in, but the bag could have been a little bigger.

Excellent craftsmanship
5/5

I am pleased with my purchase. It's a deceptive label. My light strings are 43 in length. br>Pictures show actual dimensionsbr> According to the box, one foot is required. br>Each reel came with two strings. br>I'd estimate that a reel of mini lights would yield about 100 feet. It makes a huge difference how carefully you wind your light. My photos show reels that have been wound carelessly, implying that if I had been more careful, I could have gotten more length onto the reel. br>br>THREE REELS WITH LIGHT STRANGLES WILL FIT IN THE BAG. Several people stated the opposite without even attempting to do so. See pics. br>br>Stainless steel is written on the label. — This is not correct. They're made of mild steel that has been powder coated. Stainless steel is not magnetic by nature. Low-grade stainless steel is magnetic to some extent. The magnet easily adheres to these Reels. I didn't give them a point because the Amazon ad didn't mention stainless steel. And at these prices, I didn't expect stainless steel. Plastic was something I didn't want. Over time, plastic becomes brittle and breaks down. br>br>Both the label and the Amazon ad claim that there are 12" reels. They have a diameter of 10 5/8 inches. Because the bag is about 12" in diameter, can you slightly overwind the reels and still fit them in the bag and get 12"? Because I was aware of this prior to purchasing—thanks to other reviews on this site—I did not deduct a star for it. Overall, these are decent Christmas light storage reels. My purchase has made me extremely happy. The product is of good quality and meets my requirements. I'd make another purchase.

Perfect for LED C9 light strands
5/5

So far, everything has gone exceptionally well. I ordered two sets to roll out my new 75-bulb C9 string. Each roll can accommodate one strand. You can get two strands to fit snugly and still fit in the case if you have patience, but I bought two sets just in case. I think I read somewhere that all three reels won't fit in the case, but that isn't the case here(pun intended). They fit nicely inside without having to be stuffed because each reel is wound with a strand. I would advise against placing items on top, especially if using any of the c style bulbs, as they will protrude from the sides. If you use mini lights, you shouldn't have too many problems. The real thing is just a nut with "heavy" gauge wire welded to one side and a bolt with the same welded to the other, which you screw together. Overall, I would recommend this product and will likely purchase more.
