No, only one side of this item is magnetic.
Yes, Sammy Queen, it truly does matter. It is significant because some people wish to support American jobs and purchase American goods. I, and others like me, will not buy them if they are made in China or elsewhere other than the United States. I'm willing to pay a little more for a tool that was made in the United States. So, yes, you stupid person, it does matter.
The plastic mounts are packaged separately in their own bag, i.e. The magnet is not attached to the object. I didn't use them because I didn't have any.
I seriously doubt it, but I recommend getting in touch with the seller. br>I used them as is, they work, and I'm satisfied.

This is a vexing piece of equipment. I spent some time putting these bars up and making sure they were level and on studs, etc. I used a total of five tools: three screw drivers, one wire stripper, and a 9 oz hammer. This magnet is so weak that it can't even hold the wire strippers and won't hold my baby hammer. This is a sham and a waste of time. It wasn't one or the other; it was both at the same time. Now that they're installed, and I'd have to uninstall them to return them, it's just holding three screwdrivers, with the other bar holding my pens with medal clips. DO NOT PURCHASE.
My only gripe is that they aren't as magnetically strong as I'd like, and I only have one bar to hold screwdrivers. I like to hang them with the handle down so I can see the tips easily. Because the screwdriver shaft slides off the rack unless the handle is present to stop it, these must be hung with the handles up. The other was for pliers, side cutters, and nippers, which I like to keep on hand instead of digging through my toolbox. These hold up reasonably well, but they are easily knocked off the shelf.
Although the magnetic tool holder works well, it is recommended that you also purchase and use a small hand demagnetizer, as your tools may occasionally stick together in an inconvenient manner. br>br>In a machine shop, I drilled into and bolted this to a metal workbench, and it works great. I strongly advise bolting to something solid, such as heavy timber, metal, or wall studs, rather than using VHB tape or other adhesives; instead, use mechanical fasteners.
I'm not a big fan of these. One of them can barely keep a screwdriver in his hand. Even the $2 is a bargain. The 99 ones from Harbor Freight are far superior. On one Harbor Freight, I have three hammers, while on another, I have three handsaws. I should have purchased a larger quantity of those. In the end, these do not support the weight that they are supposed to. Second, when the Magnets were delivered, the decals with their logo on them were falling off. It looked terrible, and the magnets beneath it were unattractive - This would not bother me if I were using them in the garage, but I purchased them to use on the front of my Blackstone griddle to hold BBQ tools. Overall, I was underwhelmed for the price.
My mounts were broken when I received it. Otherwise, it's a good product; the magnet is quite strong, but mine was broken when it arrived. I'm not a fan of the plastic screw mounts because they can easily break during shipping. Still, if it wasn't broken, it would do the job and be fine; I don't believe they need to be particularly sturdy or long-lasting; I'm confident they can handle the maximum weight these magnets can handle. It's just a hassle to get them back. I hope the seller packages them better because this was absurd. Because of poor packaging, the mounts on the right side of both strips arrived broken in pieces. The product appears to be of high quality.
This magnet is extremely effective. It securely holds all of my tools, and the magnet's strength is sufficient. The only issue was that it came with regular screws, which I didn't want to use because I wanted to hang it on the drywall. With the weight of the tools, I don't think those screws will hold it in drywall. As a result, I employ the term screw- It's holding fine in anchors on the side with the most screws and the screws that came with it in the others.
I gave them back to you. The magnets did not appear to be powerful enough for my needs. I was planning on putting it in a truck bed drawer to keep a few quick-access tools. Screwdrivers, knives, nuts, bolts, and the like. Perhaps I was asking too much of them, but I would think a tool magnet would hold a screwdriver in a vehicle on smooth roads. The magnet is held in place by a flexible wrench. When collar stay magnets have more holding power than this, I would not buy it again. A mounting bracket was also broken. These had obviously been returned previously, which would have been fine if they had worked. br>br>It was cheaply made and didn't work as it should.
I bought several different types of these and ended up keeping these. The mounting options are sturdy and the product is well-made. It would be nice if the magnets were a little stronger, but they are more powerful than the others I tried. As long as the tools aren't too heavy, they'll hold them just fine. It's fine for small hand tools.
