They would, in fact. However, moving them with liquid inside would be extremely difficult due to their shape, and the lid would not adequately seal the container and keep liquid inside. They're ideal for storing shoes, gloves, purses, and any other items that might be kept in a closet. Keeps all types of vermin, dust, and humidity out. And for shoes, it keeps the odor inside (I keep a couple of small charcoal packets in there to absorb shoe odors while they're being stored.) It really works.
Because the walls aren't very thick, I'd say yes, it could hold water; however, the wide wall portion might flex and not stay flat. The only way to be sure is to get one and put it to the test to see if it can withstand the weight of water.
It's made of solid plastic, and I have several of them - 12 in total - so that I can stack them in my closet They perform admirably.

I had been waiting for these for a long time and was overjoyed when my 9" tall booties fit perfectly in the xl size; they are clear and most boots fit in the boxes. The clumsy wide booties aren't going to work. Make sure your width measurements are correct. I took measurements for every pair of shoes, booties, and other footwear. in order to ensure that these boxes would fit Because I haven't left the house in a while, I'm tired of dusting off unworn shoes/boots. These are absolutely beautiful boxes! However, because the plastic is so cheap, and they didn't take the time to sand down the sharp logos on the bottom, stacking is impossible without scratching the tops of the others. And they're SHARP on the edges! Unboxing left me with about 5 small cuts. I purchased four xl boxes and then purchased two more. All of them had a crack where the hinge met the box. And because they don't open all the way, simply opening the lid and letting it go may cause damage. Anyone who claims that their children enjoy playing with them is lying. No way would I allow a child to play with these boxes. In a matter of minutes, the lid would pop off, resulting in cuts, blood, and crying. like me. Only two of the six boxes remained intact. It's incredibly depressing. These would be the best boxes ever if they put a little more effort into design and manufacturing. Returning them was something I despised.
I really wanted to like these, but they came with a lid that was damaged/broken and wouldn't close - would continue to pop off - Perhaps the lid couldn't fit because the box was too small? The hinge was definitely loose. The box was scratched in a few places as well. If the lid was shut and no scotches were present - It would have been acceptable if the item had been included - Unless you ordered it to fit a specific item - The length is only about 11 inches, despite the fact that it is advertised as being 12. 75, and the width has shrunk by more than an inch. br>I sent photos to Mdesign, who simply asked for more and directed me to Amazon - Amazon was extremely helpful and provided a refund.
I like how they stack and how the lid is hinged so I don't lose or drop it. I'm using these to store spools of christmas ribbon, and the taller boxes (which come in 3, 5, 7, and 9" tall) are in my hall closet for mittens, scarves, and hats. br>br>I gave them a one-star rating because it was difficult to remove the large labels. Instead of using adhesive, those labels could/should be a piece of cardstock inside the box; they don't peel off cleanly. It was certainly possible to do so without scratching the plastic, though. These are incredible. They are so neat and tidy that I purchased two sets and returned from the store where I first discovered them. br>br>Because they don't have a strange shape, these make much better use of space than regular shoe boxes. These are quite sturdy and good value, but mine came with a few minor scratches, which I am very particular about. I'm not sure what I'm paying for if the plastic or acrylic is scratched. When a clean case is tainted in this way, I can't help but notice. br>br>I'm hoping that future buyers will be able to get these packaged better so that they arrive in perfect condition.
I like how these have a hinged lid, and they're perfect for storing items that need to be easily accessible but don't want to get dusty. I never have to be concerned about the lid falling off or the box not being properly secured. I put lotions and other miscellaneous items in one of them that had been collecting dust on my dresser for years and were a pain to clean off on a regular basis; now I only have to dust a box instead of two dozen items every time I clean! I've been considering incorporating a few of these into my pantry as well. There are a zillion things you could do with these!.
