Questions & Answers

When our tree stand is set up, we place a cap over the trunk and add the tree- Is there a chance that the crystals at the base will prevent the hole at the base from closing?

Tree stands don't seal up until they have completely dried out, but when they do it forms a gel to keep it from drying out. It will soften up and be able to continue taking in moisture as it is added water. The key to success is keeping it hydrated.

What if the water in the tree stand is already full? Can this product be used after the water has already been added?

In my opinion, as long as it is filled with water, it'll be fine. Water does not sink crystals since the crystals are heavier than water. I don't think you should put your tree in the stand and then add the crystals because I believe they're supposed to form below the base of the tree at the bottom of the stand.

How do I find out what the ingredients are in this product? I cannot find any information on it If it says it is pet safe, could you please let me know?

It is actually polymer instead of gelatin that makes the beads appear like gelatin. A tree stand's polymer absorbs water to keep it from drying out. In addition, the tree is fed other nutrients that keep it healthy.

You will need to trim about 1 to 2 inches of the trunk's bottom

Selected User Reviews For Oregon Forestry Laboratory Christmas Tree Preserver

I am so amazed by this stuff! You only need one pack + water for your tree to last until the middle of October As a first-time user of the product last year, I was somewhat skeptical of the product
5/5

I was amazed at how much moisture the gel maintains and how I can keep the bottom of the tree moist. Amazon has now listed it on the site, and I'm excited to see it there! After the tree was up, we had to add water only 3 times in a month. As for my two pets, they both wanted to drink from the tray, so there were no issues with them drinking from the tray. The liquid I tried two years ago ended up being quite cheap, and since then I have gone through two bottles of the product. In one season, we produced 3 bottles! The stuff in this pack is much less expensive and only needs one pack. The future for me will involve me buying every year.

We blamed the dogs for it
3/5

However, I do not want to claim that the product wasn't effective. There are so many things to consider. During the first 24 hours of the holiday season, a Christmas tree drinks most of the water it will need It takes 48 hours after the cut to heal. For the record, we installed a brand new pre-installed system After arriving at the house, a few inches were cut off the cut after it was taken from a local stand in Oregon. This is a MUST that we learned the hard way in the past. The trees start to heal as soon as they're Make sure you remember to get a fresh haircut at home. Wood cookies are what you think of when you think of them. As a rule, we buy just after Thanksgiving and store them up until after the first of the year. The course is essentially 5 weeks long. The lifespan of the trees we tested this year did not differ much from last year's, using the Forestry Lab product. Since Amazon's shipment showed up late on day 2, we did add it on day 2. Then, in week 3, we started smelling a foul smell. I'm not sure if that made a difference or not. The dogs had been smelling this scent all day while I walked around accusing them. My house smelled like puke when I thought a mystery person was in there. There was a sewage smell that was somewhere between cheese and raw sewage. Since then, lots of apologies have been In the end, we had to break out the shopvac and remove the water from the tree stand and replace it with I completely got rid of the smell! As you can see, there are quite a few A lack of data makes it difficult to know whether the product was useful. It was given a neutral rating.

I can rely on this stuff
5/5

Now that December has arrived, let's get started. On Nov. 12, Costco was where I bought my Christmas tree. After several waterings, it stopped dropping needles on Dec 3. I waited a week before this arrived and I still didn't get results. Open the packet and pour the product into the tree's base, then drain it and fill it again with water. Since then, I have basically only added water once a day in December, and I have totally stopped the needle dropping. Nearly all the time, my Christmas tree is lit by LED lights. The needles remain so small when I remove the ornaments that I almost never get needle drop! I'm so happy to be able to take a break from vacuuming It is the best tree preserver I have ever.

Here's an update It is of no value at all
3/5

I have updated the original post with the following We have been using this product for sixteen days and the tree has stopped absorbing water, and needles have fallen from the It has been six days since Christmas, and I'm starting to wonder if we'll have much of a tree left by then. I believe this is completely pointless. The following update is available Honestly, I don't see any benefit from this product. It's only been a couple weeks, and needles are already falling off the lower branches. And Christmas is still just a few days away. I was not a big fan of the original We just got this product. It looks like there are two packs, but they only I already count that as a minus. My mom will be so happy to know it worked since we paid a pretty penny for the tree. Updates will be made to this review in the near future.

A tree dies sooner if it is in poor condition

I am not satisfied with the quality of this product. It prevented the tree from absorbing any It is possible that something made the tree die faster. Do not spend money on purchases or waste it.

The system works great! Last year, we used this product to prolong the life of the tree and it worked better than anything we had tried before
5/5

Needles did not fall off the tree, and the tree remained green. It is well worth the money for a tree that has the looks of a young tree for this length of time. This is a highly recommended book.

It is an excellent product for keeping your Christmas tree green and fresh throughout the holiday season
5/5

Plus, there is one more advantage. The dog likes to drink water from under the tree, where we keep a hose. I was able to preserve my data on The Oregon Forestry Laboratory. In response to someone who commented earlier, all the branches on his tree fell off and the ornaments fell all over the ground. The one about the frog made me laugh. There must be a competitor behind this guy. Besides running off with his Christmas presents, the "naked" Christmas tree ran away with all his presents as well.
