Questions & Answers
My lights are controlled by a Wemo dimmer switch. They have a nice dimming effect. There is no flicker, and they can be dimmed almost to the point where the led filament glow is all that is visible.
Parallel connections are made between the bulbs. I cut the string down to three or four bulbs and then sealed the individual conductors. It works fine, but changing them raises concerns about safety - 120 volts are carried by the string - SO BE CAREFUL AND SEAL WELL! BTW, the "outdoosiness" is dubious because the bulbs are screwed in and not waterproof. Use a gfi (general purpose interface).
Yes, the 50 FT patio lights included one spare bulb.
I have ours on 8 foot tall sheep hearers poles, about every 6 ft, for an appropriate outdoor plug in.

I rarely write reviews, but I bought these lights a few weeks ago and am hoping that they will save someone some time. They are of good quality, come with a few spare lights, and appear to be shatterproof. After stapling them to my fence, I realized they were a little brighter than I needed for my backyard, so I decided to invest in a smart dimmer. On Amazon, I looked for "Treatlife Smart Dimmer Plug," which was one of the most popular. I got it, tried it out, and discovered that the dimming feature was not working. I thought it was defective, so I returned it and bought two more smart dimmers, but none of them worked with the dimming feature. Customers who were asked "what dimmers are compatible?" mentioned several of these dimmers. ", which can be found on the product page on Amazon. Meanwhile, I checked with the manufacturer to see if these lights are dimmable. br>br>Finally, I ordered the Minoston Smart Dimmer Switch, which I received successfully: Out of four smart dimmers I ordered, this is the only one that works well and effectively dims the light. I hope this saves you some time and effort.
It's not even close to being weatherproof. Some of the bulbs were no longer working. Choose another brand; the seller claims that these are weatherproof.
These lights are excellent value for money, and they have performed admirably in light rain so far. They're quite bright, which is useful if you're using them up high or need to illuminate a large area. A dimmer should be used if you want a more subtle, dim light. I purchased a tabletop dimmer switch and plugged it into an available outlet. It has the ability to dim the lights to a very low level while avoiding flickering. This book comes highly recommended.
We bought these to drape in the back corner of our yard because it's always pitch black in that corner at night and it's always in the shade during the day, so solar lights don't last long in that area. For $25, I didn't expect much, but they exceeded my expectations! I love that they are shatterproof and lightly waterproof (except during heavy storms)br>br>Wish it had a remote control or timer option, but for this price. . I don't have anything negative to say about it. I would buy it again and recommend it to others. After a few months, I'll update to see how long it lasts.
The lights are bright and have a pleasant warmth to them. The wires are thinner than those used in bistro lights, making them easier to work with and lighter. I like the plastic bulbs because we'll be hanging three strings over a pool, and I won't have to worry about broken glass. I also like the energy-saving LED aspect, and like others, I connected these to a Treatlife smart outdoor dimmer, which works flawlessly. Don't forget to add the Treatlife Alexa skill to your Alexa skillset. Another trick is to join multiple strings with electrical tape. The connections will be weatherproof and will not pull apart as a result of this. br>br>Finally, and the reason for 4 instead of 5 stars. No one else seemed to notice the tag near the plug. "Caution: Caution: Caution: Caution: Caution: Caution: Caution: Caution: Ca Installation and use is only for a short period of time (maximum 90 days). " I have no intention of replacing them every three months!" They appear to have a longer lifespan, so I'll update this review if they don't.
I've never seen a light like this before. The fact that they're made of plastic is fantastic. Although the globes claim to be weatherproof, they do retain water. I leave them on 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, with water in them, and they still work. They're made of plastic, which means they won't break in Kansas' wind.
It's a great way to add some accent lighting or to provide actual illumination. br>br>Because they are quite bright, I strongly advise using a dimmer switch. If you lose an earring on your deck at night, these lights and nothing else will help you locate it. I have dimmed the pictures I added to roughly 50% in the pictures I added. br>br>Installing them is a breeze - Simply connect them to the power source. To hang them, I added some cup hooks to the roof of my deck. The strand was blowing out of the hooks during high winds, I noticed. That problem was solved by taking a pair of pliers and crimping them shut even tighter (still leaving enough room to remove the string). We recently experienced 65 mph winds that remained stationary. br>br>Another suggestion is to connect these to a wireless network. Mine is programmed to turn on at sunset every night. They're also linked to Alexa, so all I have to say is, "Alexa, turn on the deck lights. ".
These are my favorite because they're bright enough to wear at dusk. If you're just a few feet underneath them, about 4 feet, they're a little too bright. They'd probably look better hung from a tree, but I like having them on late at night anyway because there are too many bugs.
