I don't usually write reviews, but I felt compelled to do so in this case because I took away some valuable information. For my pergola, I first purchased a 100-foot strand. I wrapped the strand around the beams and it's about 9 x 9ft in size. However, the light bulbs are not included in the package and must be screwed in individually. I made the mistake of doing so first, and I believe it would have been easier to manage if I had gotten a shorter strand. I broke several bulbs simply by hanging them (wrapping them). Like I said, I think it would have been fine if you had gotten a shorter strand, but I also ordered a box of replacement bulbs so I could replace the ones I broke. If I could redo everything, I would. I would have wrapped the strand first, then put the bulbs in after that. These tiny guys shatter into tiny little pieces when they shatter. Not fun. The worst part was cleaning up. br>br>Also, I discovered that 100 cafe lights in a 9 x 9ft space was VERY bright, so I gently unscrewed some of the lights to reduce the brightness. I also reasoned that using fewer replacement bulbs and only screwing in the ones I unscrewed when one or two went out would save money. br>br>I'm hoping to keep these up through the winter, even though it's only September and I'm in Kentucky. When the weather turns colder, I'll try to update my post.

I purchased these for my wedding and they were fantastic. It was a great success. To keep the steel cable tight, I recommend stringing it with turn buckles. This method will prevent your lights from sagging because the light strings will clip right over the cable.

About ten of the sockets failed to connect to the bulbs when they were first installed. Here's how to get them all to work again. ***REMEMBER TO UNPLUG FIRST*** This is critical. ) Pry out the gold piece that runs along the inside of the door with a pick - merely a smidgeon As can be seen in the illustration; What happened on the way; attempting to pry the piece apart; (Notice how insignificant the fix was). br>br>I haven't yet hung these up, but they all seem to be working so far. It was a quick fix that was acceptable for the price; I'll update once I've used it. Thanks! br>br>[Update] They're still going strong outside in Arizona after four years!.

These lights are stunning. I'm glad I didn't go with LEDs and instead chose these. Yes, they consume a lot more energy and are much less durable, but the color temperature is stunning. They have just the right amount of radiance. Based on other reviews, I was concerned that some of the globes would arrive broken, so I ordered a few extra cases just in case. There wasn't even a single broken bulb, so I didn't need a single one. Everything was well-protected thanks to the excellent packaging. I 100% agree that first hang the string and then screw all the bulbs in. They've been up for a few months now in 115 degree heat, three massive windstorms, and some random summer rains, and everything is still perfect. Plus, I was a bad boy and didn't hang galvanized wire first, so these are attached directly to hooks and supporting their own weight (which is a no-no), but there have been no failures at all.

For my daughter's wedding, I purchased 400 feet of string lights. The thinness of the bulbs is a bit of a letdown! They should have extras on hand in case they break while putting the bulbs in their sockets or if they accidentally bump into each other. No, they didn't come with extras, and I didn't realize it until I opened the box and realized I was worried they'd break easily, so I went out and purchased some. br>UPDATE: Every light in the room was on. The wedding turned out to be absolutely stunning! Despite the fact that they don't want to admit it. Not a single one of them broke when they were bumped while setting them up: ) Best wishes, Mom.

These lights make me very happy. They're for my screened-in porch, so I bought them. They give off just the right amount of light. Instead of bright white light, a dull ambient light is preferable. When they arrive, the string will be on its own, and the 100 bulbs will be packaged in boxes. The bulbs are separated by corrugated cardboard inserts in the bulb boxes, but I was surprised there was no bubble wrap or other protective material. But none of the bulbs were broken, which was fantastic! I like how the bulbs and string are kept separate. It took a few tries to get the string just right, and I'm sure I would have broken a lot of bulbs if they had been connected. The way they are now appears to be the best option for a long string of lights. In addition, the bulbs are made of glass rather than plastic. You'll need an extension cord or something because the lead from the end of the cord to the first bulb is only 1 foot long. My husband ended up running a high-level plug to a low-level switch. We enjoy sitting on our patio with these lights on every evening. br>br> They'd be great for a get-together as well!.

My backyard was extremely dark, and I required a great deal of light. I ordered the wrong string from another seller, and when it arrived, it only had four bulbs and was extremely short, so it wasn't going to work. I began looking right away and came across this one, which I decided to order after reading the reviews. It arrived quickly, and I got right to work putting the bulbs together, plugging it in, and enjoying it. We installed it along the canopies and turned it on the day of the party, and it made a huge difference. My purchase has made me so happy. I'm glad it comes with two replacement bulbs, which I'll use because the people who were assisting me in putting it up broke two when they placed it on the ground while it was plugged in; I guess the ground was cold and the bulbs exploded.
