While smoothing and removing air bubbles from the applied film, you'll need another person to hold and assist you in removing the backing. I used a flexible plastic smoothing tool, but there were still a lot of tiny bubbles. I was perplexed, but I decided to wait a day before re-evaluating the situation. I'm putting together the front of my dishwasher. I'm not sure how or why, but the small bubbles vanished on their own the next day, which surprised me. The transformation of my white dishwasher to "stainless steel" went better than I had hoped.

The screen is silver

The brushed silver metallic film appeared to be more grey than silver. It's very thin, so any flaws in the underlying surface will show through. It was simple to use and suited my needs perfectly.
