During a trip with my family, I took this along as a night light, but had to shove it under the bed so it peaked out from the dust ruffle. That's my first time using this for my kids. A bright light would make it too uncomfortable. A set of AAA batteries is required, and there is no rechargeable battery the device has Battery that can be charged.
