Your closet will definitely be more functional with this and is very easy to install. I love how easy it is to install and how great it performs! You can move these brackets apart to fit a variety of hole spacings, since it is a nice design that allows you to adjust the hole spacing. The only issue we found was that a hole is drilled in the side of each bracket for a set screw to secure the valet rod, and this hole (we bought two units) had sharp burrs which scratched the valet rod when sliding into the bracket. It is a good idea to inspect the brackets thoroughly before installation to ensure there are no sharp burrs and to file them down if there are.
