It does not, in fact. The temperature is 110 degrees Fahrenheit. 120v only
On a cotton button-up shirt, I used it both with and without the steam and found that it assisted in actually smoothing the fabric as the steam was released. A finer fabric (rayon, silk, etc.) would probably not require it.

Because I never put my clothes away, they get wrinkled, so I bought this little guy. Seriously, I'm a total slacker. This steamer is small and compact, but it packs a punch when it comes to removing wrinkles. br>br> It takes very little time and is extremely simple to use. Turn on the faucet and fill it with water. br>br>I've included a video to demonstrate how simple it is to use. I hope this has given you some insight into how well it works.
Let me begin by issuing a warning: I'm writing this review after only using the product once, but I'll update it if my impressions change after more time with it. br>br>I bought this steamer for my wife as a gift because she wanted something that was easy to use and portable. The materials used appear to be adequate for the price, it's small (definitely portable), and it requires little more than filling it up and turning it on, which is exactly what she needed. br>br>I put it to the test on one of my work shirts (before and after photos) that was particularly wrinkly (due to being left in the washer too long before being hung to dry). br>br>I turned on the unit after filling it to just under the max line. After about a year, The unit was boiling in 2 minutes, and steam was continuously flowing out of the nozzle (this is similar to an electric kettle, but it forces steam from boiling water through 5 small holes in the nozzle). I WORKED SLOWLY on the front, back, and sleeves of the shirt from the bottom to the top. Following a 4-minute steam treatment on all sides, Keep in mind that this unit is quite small (which is what makes it so portable), but the tradeoff is that it doesn't produce nearly as much steam as a floor unit, which means it takes more passes to achieve the "wrinkle-free" look. a look that is "free(ish)" br>br>While the results won't compare to a dry cleaner's press (or even a decent ironing job from someone who knows what they're doing) if you're a big wig at a Fortune 500 company, they'd be perfectly acceptable for normal office work or casual events. If you want to replace your iron with something that does the same job in half the time, a larger floor unit steamer is the way to go. If, like my wife, you're looking for something simple, affordable, and portable that does the job, I believe you'll be satisfied with this product for the price, as we are. PROS: br>br> br>Price (at the time I bought it from Amazon, it was very affordable). br>Easy to operate (just fill it with water and turn it on). br>Portable (can easily fit in a carryon). br>It does a satisfactory job for the price I paid. CONS: br>br> br>MUST be used completely upright (if tilted too far, boiling water will spill - (possible security risk). br>Because the unit is small, getting the desired results takes a little longer than you might expect. br>Generates a small amount of condensation/sputters, which can result in wet spots on clothes (which dry quickly, but it's something to keep in mind for some fabrics with color-fastness). issues with staying).
The first time seemed fine; there were a couple of water spurts, but it's a steamer, so I expected that. I used it today and burned my hand, which caused me to jump and nearly drop the steamer! I figured I had filled it too full, despite being careful not to go above the maximum water line, so I tried again with less water. Regardless, I completed the task. I gave it another go with half-filled water. I did it once more. I tried it again with less than half the amount of water and videoed it. I did it once more. This is not a small amount of water spurts, as you can see in the video; it was less than half full and it was upright the entire time; this is the only Amazon return I've ever made out of hundreds of orders.
I bought this steamer to refresh a few items of clothing that wrinkle easily and I don't want to iron. This steamer accomplishes both tasks and is portable. It gets very hot very quickly. My sister-in-law decided to stay with us and informed us at the last minute, resulting in wrinkled extra sheets. The sheets looked great after I used this steamer. We are planning a trip out of state soon, and I am excited to bring this for my daughter's flower girl dress.
It's a fantastic product that's also very easy to use. You don't have to go to the sink because it comes with a measuring cup. It quickly heats up and produces steam, and the cord is quite long. One gallon of water was sufficient to steam one 84x48-inch curtain panel at a moderate rate. The left curtain is shown as it was before, and the right curtain is shown as it was after.
I have no words to describe how much I adore it. It is extremely simple to use and performs admirably. It's especially effective on cotton garments. I used it on shirts and suits and was pleased with the results.
Overall, a fantastic steamer that is far superior to ironing for clothing. The steamer holds a lot of water, and the mist is very fine; there are no water spots or spitting, unlike my previous steamer, which was an Oster and left water spots on clothes due to spitting. This one heats up quickly and is easy to use. Between refills, I was able to steam a number of garments, all of which turned out beautifully. Although I haven't had to use the brush attachment yet, it is very secure. Overall, this garment steamer is very easy to recommend.
For my travels, this is fantastic; the size is ideal, and it heats up quickly. br>br>The only drawback is that the steamer must be used standing up; otherwise, the hot water will pour out; also, some of the water will jump around on the clothes while steaming; however, this is fine because water dries. br>br>Overall, it's quite nice and practical for on-the-go ladies like myself.
