Questions & Answers
No, it's easy to open and close, but it's a little heavy; I don't leave mine open because I think the extra weight is worth the size and stability of the board while in use.
The board only has a few inches of thickness when folded. Because the iron holder isn't removable, this board should be hung on a wall or door with a board hanger. This is a fantastic board that is extremely durable.
Metal mesh has been used to construct the board.

Ironing is something I despise. I go to the dry cleaners when I have something that needs to be ironed. My husband, on the other hand, irons his clothing every night. I recently began sewing, which necessitates the use of an iron and ironing board on a regular basis, so I took over my husband's old crappy ironing board, which was noticeably wobbly when I used it. He kept complaining that I was using it and that I had all of my sewing projects spread out on it. I decided to give him my old ironing board and replace it with a better, non-wobbling one. I did a lot of research before deciding on this one, and it turned out to be fantastic. I had my doubts that an ironing board could be worth more than $100 (I had no idea such boards existed), but it is! It's sturdy, and I like the size: I can spread my fabric out over it to iron a large piece, which is great. It isn't swaying in any way. It's one of my favorite tools.
After failing to deliver on all fronts, I returned to Amazon and the internet. I chose this one because the majority of the reviews were positive, but the negative ones made me nervous. The outer box was in good condition, and the inner packaging contained all of the necessary components. The ends are covered in cardboard, and the legs are wrapped in plastic. So far, everything has gone well. When I first opened it, I was taken aback by how tall it was. This was going to be great for me because I'm 6' and usually have a backache by the time I finish on my old board. To improve the pad's quality, I had an extra pad on my old one. Although the old pad will not fit on this board, I have decided that I may not require it. On the other hand, the rack on the end was quite sturdy. I was concerned because I hung my clothes here before and after ironing. My old one could pull in and out, which was nice, but it would bend under the weight of clothes if it was all the way out. Without flexing, this one held four shirts and four pairs of pants (4 per side) plus iron. Due to other reviews, I was a little concerned about the board wobbling during the initial setup. However, once I began ironing, I was pleased with the balance. Rubber feet hidden beneath plastic covers appear to be holding the board in place without scratching my floors. After finding scratch marks in my new wood floors where I ironed, my previous iron required tennis balls on the feet. Pros. stable, width makes ironing men's shirts quick, length handles full length of pants with room to spare, great cover with fair padding ok out of the box (will likely add additional pad after this one gets broken in), sturdy rack easily supports the weight of the clothes and iron, non-marring feet So far, I have found it to be a disadvantage. The rack does not slide into the board or fold for storage (which is probably why it is more stable than the old one), and the iron holder is at the far end of the board, making it difficult to reach if you use the pointed end of the board to iron shirts like I do. I'd never used it before, so I simply stood the iron up. Others have suggested that you use a silicone pad rest on the board to keep the iron flat. So far, the advantages outweigh the disadvantages, and I believe this one was well worth the money when compared to what I found in stores. Simply because of the height of this board, ironing is ten times more enjoyable.
This is unquestionably a high-end item. You don't need to spend so much money on an ironing board; a less expensive one will suffice. If you do decide to buy it, you will not be disappointed. It's a good width for pressing yards of backing fabric for a quilt, and the pad that comes with it has enough cushion. My favorite feature is the iron rest. I have a dog who had knocked over my iron on my previous ironing board several times. That problem is no longer a problem now that the iron is set in the rest. The iron is safe in the rest, and I have the entire length of the board to iron on now. With ease, the board can be folded flat. There will be no squeaking! The adjustable height is ideal because I can fully extend it when standing to iron or lower it if I want to set it near my sewing machine and iron while sitting. This ironing board is 100% amazing to me.
I'm going back over my review and making some changes. This ironing board has been in my possession for six months now! I'm a quilter who appreciates the board's large size and sturdiness. However, I've noticed deposits on the legs, and when I removed the pad to investigate further, I discovered a large portion of the top is rusted. The power coat of paint was apparently very thin, and there was no primer used. Steam from an iron is going to be used on ironing boards, plain and simple! And for a product of this value to have rusted in less than 6 months is completely unacceptable. br>br>I cleaned up the rusty areas and wire brushed them, then primed and repainted the board. I'm hoping this will resolve the issues; my old ironing board, which I replaced with this, had been in my possession for nearly 40 years!.
It arrived exactly as I had hoped, and I am extremely pleased with my purchase. A lovely, well-made ironing board that does not rock from side to side thanks to the extra-wide feet that keep it stable. I have dark wood floors that I take great care of; they're lovely, but not nearly as long-lasting as the laminate in our previous home. This ironing board has non-marking feet that won't damage my carpet. When we moved, I got rid of my last ironing board because three of the four hard plastic foot caps had cracked and fallen off, exposing the metal legs. When you opened or closed that board, it was narrower and less stable, and it made a screeching noise. That's one you won't want to miss!.
Pad for a low price. The board has a lot of information. The pad, on the other hand, is not as thick as it appears. As stated in the advertisement, mine does not include foam or felt. The back of the top fabric has only a very thin batting fused to it. The metal grid pattern shows through when ironing a dark pair of pants.
The stand is sturdy, and the board is useful for typical domestic ironing and quilting. I'm a quilter, and I needed a larger ironing space for my work than a typical board. I have a steamer iron, which no longer takes up board space because of the tray along side.
