Ours had a metal lip on the top and two bolts to secure it.

Yes, you heard me clearly over this much quieter and superior replacement. The original made a lot of blowing noises. This new and improved model blows much better and harder while remaining extremely quiet. There is no sound of it blowing anywhere in the house. The wind will continue to blow throughout the day and night. It will astound you. Even if you put your ear up against the stove, you won't hear much blowing. br>br>I recommend that you use this instead of a good one. Amazing! I was told I'd get it on Monday, but it arrived on Friday instead. Delivery in two days! br>Anyway, we live in Tennessee and don't have natural gas, so we have to rely on electric heat or chimney fires. Since 2014, we've been using this stove to heat our 1500 square foot home for about 4 months every year. The blower began to fail this year. br>This blower fan is the first part of our pelpro to fail, which is incredible considering how many hours it's been running! br>The part was so simple to install; it came with everything we needed, including a gasket, which our machine lacked, as we discovered during the simple part swap. What a Bonus! br> br>Within 10 minutes, we were back up and running, and with a lot less noise!.
I rarely write reviews, but I felt compelled to do so in this case. It arrived much sooner than expected. The product was well-protected and packaged. From beginning to end, the installation took about 15 minutes. The side panel has three bolts, and the blower has two. br>Unlike the one that came with the stove, this blower is extremely quiet and powerful. My stove didn't come with a gasket, so I used the one that came with the new blower. I believe it aids performance and noise reduction. I can't emphasize enough how different this one is from the previous one. I wish I had replaced the original blower with this one when the stove was new instead of waiting for it to fail. It's wonderful to be surrounded by silence.
The mounting plate for the fan was installed incorrectly. I put the fan in my pellet stove after removing the plate and flipping it around. It worked perfectly! Very smooth and quiet. Much better than the noisy, defective fan that came with it originally.
Blower is a replacement for the original. It went in without a hitch and is performing admirably. Much quieter than the previous version.
Because of the higher quality gasket, this replacement fan is much quieter than the original. It also appears to move more air. Three days was the shipping time. I am extremely happy.
It's simple to switch out. In about 10 minutes, I had it hooked up and the stove was up and running again. The delivery was extremely fast.
That part was precise.
