I received my heater yesterday and hooked it up, only to have it repeatedly and randomly throw error code e21, for which there is currently no documentation indicating what that code means. I began troubleshooting by removing and replacing problem parts until I discovered the wireless chip was on a removable daughter board, which I removed and reassembled, and the errors disappeared. I took a closer look at the wireless chip/card and noticed that it was soldered onto the daughterboard with a slight skew from the contacts on the board, which I believe was causing the short because the chip/card now works perfectly after I removed and reflowed it. br>br>Update 07/30/21: After removing and repairing Wi-Fi, I still had the e21 error. Fi has since discovered that the problem is caused by the length of signal cable between the control panel and the furnace's controller. I shortened my cable because the factory-supplied UART cable was too long, and I believe it was causing communication problems between the control panel microprocessor and the control box microprocessor. I needed to relocate the control panel inside the furnace, so I simply removed the side panel to gain access. The cable is now about 2 inches long rather than 3 feet, but the furnace worked flawlessly the rest of the winter. I would have assumed that this would not be an issue because both microprocessors use USART with buffers to prevent this, but it appears that this is a problem with this furnace, so I am lowering my rating until I hear that there is a fix, such as a firmware update to reduce communication speed or something along those lines.
I purchased it because I needed a smaller, more automated pellet stove than the one I had previously. I'm now kicking myself for selling the previous one. The instructions are extremely difficult to follow; once it shuts off, I have to unplug it in order to restart; the pellets do not burn at the rate specified, so the stove must be turned off every morning. It is always turned on in the morning at 76 degrees and the lowest setting (burn rate). It's still out even if I set the thermostat to 68 or 70 degrees. Only 18 lb can be stored in the hopper. It is supposed to burn one pound of pellets (which I knew when I bought it). 8 lb. /hr is equal to 10 hours, but it won't burn for that long. There are two EC features that control the slow down time after the pre-set temperature has been reached. I've reached the limit, but I can't turn off the EC feature, which I should be able to do. I just want to put it on a low feed and let it burn for as long as possible - It's impossible! As soon as I can find a replacement for this stove, I will return it. PS. I'm attempting to heat a space that is less than 200 square feet. ft. room with a 200 sq. ft. adjoining room ft. This stove is not something I would recommend!.
br>I contacted Cleveland Iron Works, and they promptly dispatched a replacement within two days. Exceptional customer service. br>.
It gets off to a good start and has proven to be simple to keep up with so far. In my unheated study, there is this stove.
It performs admirably. When in use, there is a strong wood odor. I'm sure it's nothing out of the ordinary. The auto light feature is extremely helpful. The thermostat settings are not to my liking. It appears to be either on or off, with no middle ground. For example, it appears that setting the temperature from 65 to 80 degrees makes no difference in terms of speed; it always runs at the same speed and never slows down to normalize the temperature. Eco 1 mode is also available, which runs until the required temperature is reached before shutting down. When the temperature falls below a certain threshold, it is supposed to restart, but it never does. It necessitates a manual restart, but it's not bad overall.
The Hopper, on the other hand, is quite small! I'm very happy with my purchase, and I've been using it every day for the past two months. The control and functionality are excellent. The heat output is higher than expected (and, I believe, advertised), and the bluetooth functionality and scheduling have worked flawlessly. While the hopper is advertised as weighing 17 pounds, I get 4 to 4 1/2 hours of runtime on the low setting P3 from a full hopper. Again, this unit provides excellent value for the money, but it does have a small hopper!.
So far, the stove has been a big hit with me. In my small house, it works perfectly. There appears to be a dent on the top left hand side, as shown in the photo. It appears to be a factory product. I don't believe it affects the stove's functionality. I did, however, invest in a new stove.
I didn't enjoy the process of setting up the digital system.
