All you'll need to reinstall your lid and secure the Hopper Extension to your stove is a pair of Pliers, a drill, and a 10mm socket. This is an incredible product. For those who are leaving negative feedback, the unit does not include a lid, but why should it? You don't need an extra lid because you already have one. The length of the wires for the lid open safety switch was not an issue for me. The optional bracket to keep the lid open can be purchased for less than three dollars at a hardware store. Excellent product, prompt delivery, and high quality. Some people have expressed their desire for the metal to be thicker, but why is that necessary? This item's walls have very little strewn about them. Make plans to purchase a second one.
The pellet hopper was a perfect match for the stove. The installation was simple, and I was able to pick up that dreaded lid brace for $3 at Home Depot. I used matching brass screws to install it, and the fit and finish were perfect; all I had to do was bend the brace's mounting bracket. If that's too much for you, have a professional install the tab folding and lid drilling portions of the job. However, with a drill and a few bits, the average person can complete this task in about an hour, with some second-guessing. You won't need the lid brace if you make sure not to drop the bag of pellets against the lid every time you fill your stove. When your hopper is full, remember to adjust the feed adjustment plate in your hopper to deal with the extra weight on your auger. The lid latches must also be adjusted to accommodate the hopper's thinner metal. When you do, it'll be like having a whole new stove with a lot more burn time. I always admire this product when I pass it.
Before the extension, I had a 40-pound capacity Englander 1500 sq ft model. It used to take the majority of a bag at any given time, but now I can fit about two in. It burns for about 15 minutes on high with 5 bags. In the cold weather, 18 hours is a welcome relief. br>br>Installation: br>br>Installation: br>br>Installation: Make sure you read the instructions thoroughly to ensure you have everything you'll need, including a drill, a metal bit (5/32) and a nut driver. The use of high-temperature silicon caulk to seal the pellet stove and the extension is also a good idea. I also duct taped the wires and extension (for the hopper door switch) so I wouldn't get them tangled up. It takes about an hour to complete the installation, which is simple if you follow the instructions. Make sure your feeder plate (above the top auger) is also adjusted. This product comes highly recommended by me.
I bought two of these, and while the box itself is excellent, the switch jumper is a complete disaster! The jumper is about an inch too short, and the shield must be stripped back to accommodate the switch's terminal spread. The terminals' crimping is poor, and they fall off with little to no pull, which is by far the most serious issue. Having said that, I would secure the wires to the inside of the new box with a piece of foil tape.
Fix the wiring and it would get five stars 100 percentage of it would get five stars percentage of it would get five Thank you, Jim,br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br.
This is what I installed on my Englander pellet stove, which now holds just under 100 pounds of pellets. It was simple to install if you took your time; I drilled and bolted it to my stove and ensured that it was completely sealed. Overall, I'm very pleased with the result; it's an excellent modification.
I'd give it five stars if it did what it was supposed to do, which is to extend your runtime, but the picture that was used to sell it is not what you get! The lid does not have a lid or a hinge to keep it open. You keep your current lid, and if you want a side hinge to keep the lid open, they recommend purchasing and installing one.
This year, my wife and I decided to use our two pellet stoves to heat our home. Our Quadrafire can hold 2 1/2 bags, but our England Stove Works pellet stove can only hold one full bag. We discovered the hopper extension from Innovative Group and placed an order for it. The shipping was extremely fast; in fact, it arrived a day earlier than I had expected. The instructions for installation were simple to comprehend and implement. The fit isn't perfect, but it was made to fit a variety of stoves. All of the components were present, as well as a few extras. There was no need to be concerned about the lid latch. Finally, the hopper does what it's supposed to do: it increases the volume of pellets. The materials and construction are of excellent quality. It is overpriced, which is my only criticism.
