Selected User Reviews For Skyflame 18-inch Fireplace Log Grate with Dual Burner Pan and Connection Kit for Natural Gas, 304 Stainless Steel
The fireplace had to be redone. For the past 12 years, the old burner has been neglected. The old burner was replaced with this one. I considered the flimsy aluminum hose that came with the kit. Is this the most secure method of connecting this? This appears to be the case after watching some YouTube videos in which everyone left the connector tube inside the fireplace. I don't know of a better way to connect the burner and pan to a 1/2 in steel gas pipe with standard gas pipe fittings because you'd have to rotate the burner and pan assembly around the gas pipe, which you can't do. It went off without a hitch and didn't cause any damage to the house. To protect the burner and pan, you'll need the following: Whatever you want to use: fire glass, lava rock, vermiculite, or whatever else. The flames are 4" below the logs on top of the grate when not in use. As a result, I'll be placing an order for some of that. The grate is extremely sturdy, thanks to its welded construction. As advertised, it appears to be made of 304 stainless steel. An Allen wrench was used to secure the legs.
It works great, though it is a little loud on low flame and quiet on full blast. It generates a great deal of heat! A gas log lighter was added to an old wood-burning fireplace. It looks like a pro installation because I used ceramic logs and a full glass to cover up the burner plate.
It's working perfectly.
Excellent Product.
We returned them because they did not work for us.
