There's no need for anything else. All I had to do was adjust the gas input for the flame with the screw. Installing is a breeze.

I'm not sure, but I'm guessing that whoever sells the valve will also sell the knob.

This item is designed to fit and work with the Heat N Glow SL-Series Fireplace. 750TR- C, I had a broken Plastic Pilot control Knob for a couple of years, no one sells that knob, I was able to turn Pilot with pliers, but this year the fireplace refused to turn on, so I didn't do it myself. I called a few places in New Jersey, not many places deal with fireplace repair, some only do certain brands, one place I found had no appointment available for two months and the cost to just look at it was $225. 00, so I decided to repair it myself with the help of a video on YouTube titled " Heat N Glo SL 750 Repair ". I didn't change the thermocouple for the pilot because it was working fine; in the pictures, I disassembled an old valve out of curiosity; I have no idea how or why this valve fails; I guess after so many years, some mechanism in the valve wears out.
On YouTube, there are a couple of excellent videos that demonstrate how to replace this valve. To make sure there were no leaks, I watched the videos and sprayed soapy water on all joints. It's been working flawlessly for the past month. If I ever needed something similar, I would definitely buy it again.
15 y. Both the thermocouple and the valve were replaced in the nat gas fireplace. Aside from the need to completely disassemble the burner (do NOT try to replace from underneath), this was a 15-minute swap that worked flawlessly the first time. If you're comfortable with gas plumbing and have an obsolete but still functional 8000, this is one part you'll need.
My pilot light was glowing brightly, but my fireplace refused to light. I tried replacing the ThermoPile first, but that didn't help. Then it occurred to me that the problem could be a gas valve. I looked around and found this valve that was exactly what I needed! I turned off the gas and electricity, snapped a few photos, and then switched the feeds from the old valve to the new one. I put it to the test, and it worked! I would strongly suggest it.
On our Heat-X system, we replaced the gas valve. It was a Glo 6000TRI that wouldn't turn on. This is a genuine OEM part that functions properly. It took me a couple of hours to get to this valve because you have to disassemble the fireplace logs, remove the burner, and remove the mounting plate, but it was fairly simple.
It was a perfect match. I followed the directions in a YouTube video called "Heat N Glo SL- Repair 750".
This was the last piece of equipment to be installed in our fireplace, and it worked perfectly. I like that the flame can be adjusted.
It was the ideal replacement for a valve that had been in service for 22 years.
