Is it possible to use fire glass with this pan?

Yes, these will work with fire glass. Place sand under the baffle plates and cover the burner tubes with about 1" of glass before installing.

Is there a pilot kit that you could suggest for this?

The SPK3E, RPKSE, and RCM1E are all available from Rasmussen.

Is the back of this tapered so that it will fit inside properly?

What does it fit inside of? It simply sits on its legs, to which you connect a gas line, place the grade inside, add the logs, and light the fire. I'm not sure what you mean by taper.

Customer service is excellent, but quality control is lacking

Quality of the product: br>When the burner arrived, I noticed the inlet pipe's weld was missing. I contacted the manufacturer, who advised me to replace it. I contacted the merchant, who arranged for a replacement to be sent to them. br>br>An incomplete weld was also present in the replacement that arrived. A replacement was then dispatched. br>br>The third time was the charm, but the corner was damaged when it arrived. What irritates me is that the manufacturer stated that they would inspect the third one to ensure a good weld, but failed to notice that the product was dented in the corner. br>br>I am concerned about the products' lack of quality control. Given that these are fire-fighting devices, it would be advantageous for them to ensure that their products are welded in all of the appropriate places. br>br>Installation: br>br>Installation: br>br>Installation: br>Instructions are a type of "one-size-fits-all" type of thing. one-size-fits-all It would be preferable if they went out of their way to create separate instructions for natural gas and propane setups in their "all" document. In addition, one of the parts in my kit did not match the instructions, so I had to check with the merchant to see what it was. br>br>Customer Service:br>Both the manufacturer and the merchant were extremely responsive and took great care in ensuring that replacements were sent. During the installation, they were also quick to respond to a technical question.
