The value is excellent, the craftsmanship is of very high quality. My intent was to replace the vintage andirons that came with my 1915 house with these. The originals are still in my possession since they are beautiful, but I wanted something solid for the winter months since I use my fireplace often. I am glad to have found these as they were hard to follow after my 1915 andirons This is more of a contemporary design, but they don't fail to impress.
The andirons we used were old, and one of them had melted down due to the heat. We needed something that could stand up to the heat and not This one has a nice middle support so it holds the wood up higher than our old one. We have been able to accomplish our goal perfectly with their help.
It's a pleasure to hold these andirons. I love how sleek they are and how they look in my transitional style bedroom. Although they are deer, I disagree with the reviewer who described them as primitive. They make for a beautiful piece of art that fits well in the fireplace. They complement their surroundings and are a great addition to the room. Whether the ashes are from previous fires or not, my husband likes that the legs are tall, so there is plenty of space to store papers underneath.
The sling is very sturdy, and it has not sagged at all, even when burned VERY hot. Normally, the cradle grates I had always melted and sagged after a long night of coals, but this model didn't do that. A brief update These shoes are still as good as new, with no sagging and an excellent finish after two seasons. This is a great product.
I like it a lot. I like the way it's You're an artist!.
It was exactly what I needed. My fireplace looks very nice and I enjoy their medieval appearance and they are very heavy and suitable for large logs.
The irons seem to be extremely heavy duty, and they are well made.
