Selected User Reviews For Propane Gas - Majestic 10002265 OEM Replacement 3 Way Pilot Assembly for Propane Gas Fireplaces
The Majestic propane fireplace insert I have has been in use for 12 years and I had to replace the Pilot Lite Assembly for the second time. Whenever a thermocouple failed, it was the thermocouple that caused the problem. Thermostocouple, thermocouple, 3way flame jet, and the spark element were replaced, but I chose to use the item provided in place of the entire assembly. Designed to work with the Honeywell gas valve that came with your Majestic, this device works very well. Flame is a perfect shade of blue without any orange tint, and the flame is precisely aimed at the top. In order to light the pilot light, the thermocouple must be heated for no more than ten seconds in order to Other sites took 30 seconds or longer. This is the hardest part of the installation. A Majestic insert is extremely difficult to attach this assembly to. To the rear of the gas valve are hooked an aluminum gas pipe and a copper thermocouple connection. The stove has only a 4 inch depth clearance from the front of the fittings, so you cannot connect these two pieces. By reaching into the blind from the rear through the slots in the stove floor, the task must be completed. Additionally, there is no room for a 7/8 inch open ended wrench to be used. Two points per move need to be tightened with a 16 point box wrench. I don't think it's fun to do it To tighten the fitting, I cut a slot in the wrench with a Dremil so that the box wrench can slip over the tubing. A picture of the affected area is attached.
I was very pleased with this product for its price and its speedy delivery. Its fit was perfect and it went into my body without any issues It seemed like no amount of cleaning would revive the old gearbox and I figured after 20 years there was nothing left to do for it. Rather than a feeble orange flame, the pilot flame is now a nice strong blue - A yellow color. It is certainly a plus for Vermont Castings to have made this unit easier to assemble and to connect than some of the units I've seen on youtube. My hope is to only have to replace this pilot assembly after 20 years.
My fireplace pilot light needed to be replaced and I was initially convinced I would need to spend a couple thousand for a whole new unit. But after tearing apart the older equipment and looking at everything, I realized my pilot light was not the only thing on its last legs. This replacement part replaces all the sensors as well as the pilot Now that my fireplace has been repaired, I am using it along with a few AC powered fans beneath it to distribute the heat throughout my 3200 square foot home. During the last two months, I checked my NEST thermostat several times and they barely report any No one is home when the house hits 65 degrees, and as soon as we enter the house, the fireplace is lit and fans are blaring. It has been a pleasure to see my heating bill decrease.
If you are having trouble with thermocouples, thermopiles, or other parts, simply replace the entire assembly.
Super easy to install if you have all kinds of mechanical skills. Within minutes of having it delivered by Amazon, I had it installed and working perfectly.
For $325, we had a professional install two of these. In the end, it was a very expensive trip. This is due to the fact that the new pilot assemblies work It's important to remember that those on the outside wall will accumulate moisture if they are left with the gas off. Once you've been there for a few years We will need to replace them once more. A view from inside a wall isn't as affected as those from outside.
Used on a customer who had her fireplace go out. Installed in two minutes. Fit perfectly and brought her fireplace back to life. Will fit a lot of other fireplace inserts as well. Although this may be a hard work for the average homeowner, you will need to disassemble a lot of the inserts to install the part.
But the part is well worth the price.
The pilot light on my lamp has a yellow flame now. My expectations were blown away by the ease of installation. It would have been nice if the shipping company would have put it in a box and not an.
Location played a role in the difficulty of installation There are very few spaces available, not the product's fault. It works fine.
