Selected User Reviews For Heatilator Sit Top Mount Fireplace Pilot Assembly Natural Gas
Despite having a wonderful Jotul gas fireplace, it did not always operate when we flicked the switch over a couple of years. There is a possibility that it will quit forever this November (2020). As a result of my research, I found out what part was in need of replacement. It was quite different from Jotul, as there seemed to be many different brands. My purchase of the Heatilator was based on previous reviews. After I removed the old set of controls from our stove and compared them with the Heatilator, I found that they were identical—even down to the location of the holes where they attach to the stove. The four connections have been made The electrical contacts, the gas line for the pilot light, the thermistor, and the second gas feed for the burner ignition should be connected It was all a perfect fit. There must be some kind of standard for all stoves of this type regardless of brand. (Which is a good idea. it. It took me an hour and a half, mainly because I hadn't tried this type of work In any case, it could take up to half an hour, especially if you use small or medium sized wrenches to unscrew the gas feeds instead of the large adjustable wrench I used.
I am happy with my purchase. This is the same part as Jotul Part # 129471, but without the LP orifice. It does not include the LP orifice (Jotul # 129473), which would need to be added Taking advantage of this great offer on pilot assemblies is a great idea.
In addition, In Rochester NY, we have a free standing gas fireplace in our large bathroom that otherwise feels freezing on a cold morning in winter. As soon as it's warm again, we turn the pilot and gas off. Showers and baths expose the pilot assembly to rust every few years due to the high moisture content. By keeping the pilot on year-round, this could be prevented, but we prefer to shut it down in the off-season. In the event it rusts and won't light the stove, I replace it for a cost of about $140 online. It is EXACTLY the same part at half the price! I install it
This Heatilator unit is the same part at half the price!.
The quality of the product is excellent. Not the solution I was looking for. The key to keeping your fireplace lit is to understand why it won't stay lit.
It is exactly how it is.
I used this in my Majestic fireplace and it looked great. Since it was last updated, it works better than ever. As an alternative to rebuilding the old assembly, a spare ignitor was more cost effective and I now have a spare.
I was having fireplace issues repeatedly.
It seems like these instructions - although they could be helpful - would apply to many different fireplaces. It was impossible for me to figure out how to install the entire unit so I took each component apart and reattached it separately.
