Similar to this type of desa, I have a CDCFNRA. How do I know if this one is suitable ?

For your model, you should look up the list of parts on the Desa website. This list will give you an assembly number that links to a supplier for your model. I had no problems with the Amazon part

The unit I have is the This model is a VF4-5000 You can find part number 901914 or Lennox H4113 on the manual list. Would you be able to confirm it looks the same?

For my fireplace, the part number recommended for me was this unit. There is a possibility that the pilot is older than the fireplace, but the mounting holes (the little tabs) were not the same as the original one. I did not mind drilling out the holes to a larger size to make it fit. They were a little small and not centered to the studs. As a result, I have the tools and can use them effectively. However, other than that, the new version looked identical to the original and so far has worked well.

It appears that the mounting holes on the do not match the studs coming from You will most likely have to bore the mounting holes out and lengthen the holes to make them fit the studs coming off the frame

I was not pleased with the way the excess valve was fitted

I was not pleased with the way the excess valve was fitted. Despite all efforts to thread the program correctly, it does not work. Payed a professional to install it, and he said that it is terrible. I had to use Teflon tape to get it to As a result, we were able to give two stars instead of one since the fireplace now works and the winter was cold.
