Do you need a vented fireplace for this?

A ventless universe. The fireplace is a DESA Model VS24PRA. I was able to replace the item that had gone bad with this product. This particular item will fit both vented fireplaces and ventless fireplaces, it is my understanding.

The fireplace in the desa CGCFTN will this fit?

The bottom of your old pilot bracket should be stamped with a number.

I like it, but there need to be bigger mounting holes for it to work In order to replace the OEM pilot assembly on my gas fireplace, I purchased this product

The mounting holes were too small for the mounting screws to pass through, so I would have rated it 5 stars if it could be mounted. To remove both holes, I had to drill them out. The software works as advertised, aside from that.
