I'm very pleased with how this gasket performs on my Russo side-load wood stove. it is round when you first put it on, but after you tie it on and close it, it settles and becomes basically flat after some time.

It seals the door of the stove

I was able to seal the door of my pellet stove with the gasket kit due to its length. In order to ensure a good seal, I used a larger diameter gasket than the 1/2" suggested by the stove manufacturer. Unlike in the past, I have never used this adhesive since it failed to secure gasket well and did so in a short period of time. Instead, I used a high temperature RTV adhesive for automotive applications that is much more durable. New gasket installation appears to working like a charm so far. It appears to be holding up to the daily door opening and closing and high stove temperatures.

I found this product to be a bit thicker than what I wanted but does a great job sealing my lid. To assemble, just use glue, spread the bead around the jar lid, clamp the one end to the lid, stretch to create tension, press it into the glue, and clamp the other end to trim the ends with a razor blade. Seal the ends with the glue. There you go! Last night, it was 104 degrees, so it did not take long for the glue to dry and cure.

A few days ago, I put this in, and I bought it 22 months ago. Until now, compressing has been of no use

A gasket such as this is supposed to ensure that my wood stove is sealed properly, but in less than a week after it was installed, it compressed so much that it was worse than the gasket I replaced earlier. I lose a lot of air around the door and my wood burns too fast as a result, wasting my money and making it impossible to efficiently heat my house.
