Questions & Answers

In how many pieces does the package contain?

There is a description of this. Each of the following is worth 10 each. This kit is nice.

Is it possible to substitute a different longer screw for the one I want to insert into the A total of 5 tiles and The backing board plus one air space is all that is left. What are the top 5 tips ?

The answer is yes.

What is the process of attaching these? Screwing through the heat shield, then the spacer and then the wall, is that the way? The screw would not transmit heat to the studs, would it?

I think that is the correct way to attach them A spacer is inserted between the heat shield and the wall, then the heat shield is removed. It's not necessary to place the screws directly behind the stove, so they won't be directly affected by the heat.

Despite the fact it isn't the only answer, there is a solution
5/5

A few days ago, I moved my Blaze King to another room, angled it in a corner, and noticed my walls were getting much hotter than I thought they would. Even if I have fire retardant drywall, I can't really be sure if the paint was too hot to touch when it got too hot. came up with many ideas regarding how to solve the problem, all of which involved putting something between the stove and the wall, since moving the stove out another foot would have been unrealistic. There are about 8 to 10 inches between the stove's back corners That corner is where the duct system is, so the side with the firebrick gets hotter than the one with the duct system. I also wanted it to be as close as possible to the corner, so I know I am pushing it. There were several options available, including stacking Placing cinder blocks on top of one another In the process of purchasing Tile installation as well as some sheet metal work. I've been collecting sheet metal roofing panels for a few years in preparation for putting a roof on a log cabin on the back acres, so I chose some 14-gauge panels We used corrugated steel of 12 gauge. . . but had to know how to attach it to the walls in order to create Here are a couple of ideas, from cutting down old knobs and bolts to using the new parts Buying some ceramic standoffs would be a better choice than tube wire insulators. In this kit, which measures about 15 by 18 inches, A dollar bill, with 10 cents It seemed that spacers were the best answer and even if I went with stove boards, they do not include a kit. My final result was to combine some sheets so that both sides are 30 cm This is 32 inches wide and 32 inches high Start at about 10 inches tall and grow to about 16 inches tall An inch off the ground with a full one inch off the ground It would be better to attach the spacers to high points on the ribbed sections to create the inch of air space in the back. It is now cooler with cool walls, plus the metal is a second source of heat. In the end, I did paint the metal with high-gloss paint I still heat the paint, but it doesn't get virtually as hot as it did before the metal was on the walls. The conventional wood stove either requires a huge gap in front of the wall. . . like having the stove in the middle of the room. . . or the stove is supported by some type of backing with an air gap to keep approvals and/or inspectors satisfied. By using metal, I reduced my clearance requirement by approximately 67% and I'm happy with my final result. I also find that this kit is lower priced than buying separate parts. As far as I am concerned. . . something with an air gap will be more effective than something against the wall, and after testing ceramic tile directly against the wall it will still conduct heat directly to the wall, so it needs a backer board. No complaints so it gets a 5. For those who prefer to poke a stud instead of using wall anchors, it is important to keep in mind that it directs the heat from the screw directly into the wood, so I avoided it. I wanted to achieve a slightly industrial look with this stove, but since it will act as a heater, I was more interested in how effective I could make it and still be able to keep it near the corner and put I spent no money on this project, but if you are lacking the metal and plastic then you will have to purchase them Those stove boards, which are essentially just some thin sheet metal over a tile backer board, are pretty cheap at the home center in terms of paint compared to those stove boards.

They are almost perfect
5/5

I give them a You would like to give it 5 stars, but you cannot. are good at what they do. The air gap walls I created around my fireplace were made from them. Overlaying the backerboard with porcelain tiles hung on stainless hooks (purchased from Amazon as well) gave the room a more upscale look. After installing the tiles, I could slide them in when they were ready. My main concern was the screw heads getting in the way of the tile. Fortunately they are fairly low profile, and I had no trouble. In the aluminum sheets on the wall, the screws are drilled right in. I believe they are #9 screws, none of which are stripped. I do not know what diameter they are, but I thought they were Ten of these (soon to be 12) are held along with four tiles of 40# each and 25# of cement board. There is no way to break it. It is just the length of the screw that concerns me. Considering this product's price, it's pretty expensive. I understand that it was designed to work with the drywall inserts included, There will be a lot of weight in these air gap stove walls. That is not something you want to support with plastic inserts, right? Generally if you have 1/4 wallboard, a 1-inch gap and a half-inch of drywall, this screw will get only half an inch of stud (if you have 1/4 wallboard and a 1-inch gap). It would be better if they were The back of a plastic drywall insert can always be screwed through. Finding and getting enough wood, however, is not something that happens naturally. It would be better to give the screws a half inch more length for the same price. With one of the hand extension pickup claws that old folks use to place ceramic spacers, I installed the ceramic spacers. In addition to the solid construction, the inserts are rough on the outside. Consequently, it was easier for me to grip them. Because the holes were big enough, it was easy for me to slide them.

These hold a heavy heat shield well with six of them screwed into studs. They are also very effective at insulating the space.

Heat shield spacing is great when this product is used
4/5

Product used to prevent heat transfer when a freestanding fireplace is mounted with HardieBacker as a heat shield. In some cases, however, you may need to enlarge a screw to suit the thickness of a heat shield.
