More details on this particular board can be found below - because we've changed the design to address the problem you've been having. br>br>I apologize for the bad experience you had with the product; in this case, we recently changed the design of the board because we believe that part of the cracking is due to the way the board is fastened to the heat tubes with the pins. The high- The baffle boards' temperature insulation shrinks as they heat up, whereas the metal expands, putting a lot of stress on the board as it is pinned to the tubes. Almost all of the failures we've seen go through the mounting holes, leading us to believe that this is the primary cause. We rarely deviate from the OEM's design, but we believe that in this case, it is necessary. We changed the holes in the latest version of the board to elongated slots so that everything can expand and contract without stressing the board. br>br>We do have a break-in procedure that we recommend, and we've started including it with the boards. I've attached it for your convenience. br>br>In terms of replacements, I agree that we should replace your purchase at no cost, and I'll check our inventory to see if we have the updated version on hand. I also received two follow-up messages to confirm that I received it and that it works properly. Linn Manufacturing stands head and shoulders above nearly every other vendor on this site, and I would recommend their products to anyone. This, once again, is what true customer service entails.
If we overload the furnace with logs, they will punch holes in them after 5 years. The factory originals feel slightly different, lighter and possibly a little thicker, but they must be cut in half to be installed. These are pre-cut with a ship lap and fit perfectly in the firebox. The draft has improved noticeably, and the improved performance is fantastic. The material feels denser and more durable, despite the fact that it may be 1/8" or so thinner. We'll use these from now on if they have the same (or better) lifespan as the factory ones.
This is a task that anyone can complete. When I first realized my baffle was broken, I called around to various woodstove and chimney repair shops in the area. The earliest they could be released is in two weeks. (As well as a $135 walk-in closet. ) the- There is a fee for entering the building! ) This is not a good time of year to be outside. On a major video hosting site, I found an online tutorial video on "Replace a Baffle in a Heritage" that demonstrated how to replace the baffle. I placed an order with the manufacturer, and it arrived the next day, safely packaged. br>br>It's a pain to get rid of the old baffle - It's impossible to avoid. There was dust and soot all over the place. It took some time and patience, but I was able to get rid of it. Note: In order to remove the baffle, there are three visible cotter pins that appear to need to be removed. This isn't the case at all. Only the back two should be considered. The third holds a different piece together. br>br>The new baffle is as simple to install as the video shows. All you have to do now is twist the wires that came with the reburner. It took some time to remove the old baffle, but it only took two minutes to replace it.
My Hearthstone Heritage's performance has been increased by twofold thanks to this product. I was able to complete the installation without hiring a chimney sweep because it was not difficult. I had been entrusting the cleaning and maintenance of my stove to a local sweep for a couple of years, only to discover that the Baffle had been broken in half, and the stove was only half efficient. The heat output has doubled since installing this product, the glass has remained clean, and the ashes have burned much better, requiring removal every three days rather than two. This is because the hotter and better burn leaves me with fewer chunks of "charcoal. " If only I'd done it years ago!.
There were no instructions provided. I found the information I needed by watching an installation video on YouTube (for a different Hearthstone stove model). It took only 10 to 15 minutes to complete the installation. However, for a "Tribute" model stove, you must decide whether you want the baffle to run parallel to the bottom of the stove or at an angle (the front of the baffle being higher than the back). A small ledge (made from angle-iron) is present in the "Tribute" model. The top of the fire chamber's back interior face is made of iron. By placing the baffle's back edge on this small ledge, the baffle will be installed at a slight angle, with the front edge slightly higher than the back edge. However, I decided to mount the baffle's back edge on top of a rear frame. member of the fire chamber's back wall, as this is where the holes for the stainless-steel pipes are drilled. The baffle is held in place by steel wires that run directly over the front tube in the upper part of the fire chamber. Installing wires is a breeze. So far - after a period of four to five weeks - There will be no issues.
It could be my stove, but it was a pain to put together. I've had it for a little over a year and have only used it to burn wood for a few months in early 2020. For the first time this season, I started a fire. During my previous inspection of the stove, I noticed that it was ready but had two cracks in it, so I'm sure I'll have to replace it again soon. Update. br>br> It fell apart less than a year after purchase and only 5 months of use.
