One of the 1s outside the fireplace is broken. Brick is used for the exterior. As of right now, it looks like there was no foam on the inside, does anyone know what kind of foam was used?

Connecting the shield to the galvanized tubing is a plastic shield with a plastic sheath inside. A window screening was added to make the room bug-proof. Thanks, and I hope that helped.

The plastic is cheap

Does not come with a metal extension to aid in connecting the vent hose but I had one from my old cover that worked. This is an exact replacement for my old cover, which disintegrated over time. The other brand/model I bought ended up being the one I ended up using. We think it will last longer because it's heavier plastic. The difference here is that this one has the hood, while the other was louvered.

The installer is easy to use

Having an exact replacement for my original vent and an easy installation made this product appealing. Only eight years were left in the original. Due to being on the west side of the house, the afternoon sun probably caused it not to last very long. UV protection could prolong its life.

There was no damage to the roof or chimney. Approximately 15 years have passed since the old item was used. If it lasts 15 years, then I will consider it a success. The plastic feels the same as the old part. Not overly thick, but if it lasts 15 years, it should be okay. This was an added bonus, since the part arrived in 24 hours.

There is too much mesh in the air intake The holes are wide enough to allow wasps and other insects to crawl through. To resolve the problem, I added a screen to the intake area.
