The service company that I contacted said it would take hours to diagnose the problem. So I bought this after talking with two companies about my fire place (it wouldn't ignite). We avoided having to pay for a service visit, which saved us a lot of money. It was so easy to replace the controller. I started the fireplace and there was no clicking sound nor was the pilot lit so it was cheaper to use a module than to call a repair service. The module fixed the problem and I saved a lot of money not having to call a repair service.

Just when I thought I was screwed and was going to have to pay for a brand-new fireplace or to pay a service charge, I was informed that all I needed was a new one.
