Questions & Answers

What if I don't want to use a grill with this pan?

It is nice to hear from you. *Please do not use this ash pan without a grill or grate. The burning of the pan does not only require oxygen, but can cause the pan to deform as well.

It's a mess free world! Especially if you use it in conjunction with a fireplace ash vacuum, this ash pan will help keep the fire ash mess at bay
5/5

A couple of seconds were needed to assemble it. I would have preferred a rectangular shape, but that is not an issue. My first step in removing an ash pan from the fireplace is to vacuum around it. As soon as I have removed and dumped the ash tray outside, I vacuum up the little bits of ash in the fireplace and I am finished. It's a mess free world! Its only negative feature is that it has useless handles. The handles are only impressions they are not really handles. When you use the "handles," you are prone to tipping the tray over and spilling ashes all over your carpet or flooring. For this reason, I put on gloves to keep my hands from getting cut and grab the tray from either side.

An oval tray fits perfectly in front of a fireplace, so it's not square
4/5

It is a charcoal bucket I purchased for my home made grill to keep the charcoal in and allow me to dump it easily In reality, the picture is more like a pyramid than a square. Having more applications to use is great, because it gives the user more options.

In my fireplace, I have a gas inlet that is about an inch up from the base, and projects about an inch out of the side
3/5

I ended up cutting a notch out of one side of the ash pan in order to make it fit under the pipe due to the 2" high ash pan being too high.

Ensure the size is right
3/5

bought one years ago without realizing it was too big and used it for many years without noticing its size. I think they've made some nice changes since I bought mine. Take the handles, for example.

It is a functional tray that fits well
5/5

As a result of not having an ash container built into the floor of our fireplace, this fireplace tray is a big deal for us. Before having to be cleaned out, it can hold the ashes from a few fires before they need to be dumped.
