I've had mine for about a year and there is no rattling. You can use it without the timer, too. I was under the impression that it was reliant on it, but that was not the case. I've had mine running all day and it's been great.
It expressly states this. It is the feature's final bullet point.
It's not metal or plastic; instead, it's a long-lasting composite.

Yes, I bought this fan from Amazon six and a half years ago. I never thought about writing a review for it because, well, It's a fan, as you might have guessed. It spins and blows air, just like a fan. Then, while researching some other electronic appliances for purchase and trying to figure out how well they hold up over time, it occurred to me that this Lasko product deserved a positive review, which would hopefully alleviate any concerns that others might have about purchasing such an item without seeing it first. br>br>The fan was bought to help circulate air in a stuffy upstairs bedroom while also providing white noise for sleep. It excels in both areas, though I would warn that one person's "white noise" may be another person's "annoyance"- Even on the lowest speed, I can see how it might disturb those who prefer dead silence as their background noise; for me, this is a positive feature (I struggle to sleep without that steady drone), but if you value silence above all else, this is not the product for you. br>br>Prepare br>br> It was simple and self-explanatory to get up. instructive; Even after all these years, I can say with certainty that it requires periodic dismantling and cleaning. The unit is fairly large, especially in terms of the base plate, which does an excellent job of stabilizing the fan even at high speeds but at the expense of a significant amount of floor space. Fortunately, the included remote control (which has worked flawlessly since purchase with only two battery changes to my recollection) allows the fan to be tucked into a corner without fear of being unable to reach the controls, with the caveat that you cannot remotely switch between oscillating and stationary modes. br>br>What I want to emphasize the most is that in the six and a half years that I've owned it, this fan has had zero mechanical issues. And we're not talking about a one-time use here-- Over the years, it has been running far more frequently than not, both to keep the airflow moving during the day and to provide white noise at night. During the summer, the fan is usually left on high for at least 5 hours. PERIOD OF SIX MONTHS-- not "every night for months," but "24 hours a day, every day" for 5 days. 6 months! I'll be the first to admit that the construction feels flimsy at first when you unpack and put it together, but the results speak for themselves: This fan has lasted a very long time. And not just in a mechanical sense- despite the fact that at least a dozen dis- The plastic clips that hold the plastic casing in place have also held up admirably (I recall thinking during the first assembly that those things would never last-- I was completely off the mark! br>br>I can't comment on how well the timer function works because I haven't used it, and as previously stated, the blades will accumulate a lot of gunk over time, necessitating regular wipe-downs (as with any bladed fan). Overall, if you're not put off by the unit's size and don't mind the constant droning of a fan while you sleep or go about your day, I can't recommend this product highly enough. If it ever breaks down, I'll gladly buy a new one to replace it!.
The fan is well-made and comes with a lot of useful features. The remote is functional, and the scheduled shutdown is convenient. We had a problem with this fan because it was extremely loud. On each level, I've attached three pictures that show the noise it makes when not directly in front of it. Even at its lowest setting, it exceeds 60 decibels, making it too loud to sleep with the fan on. I returned the fan after a week because I wished it had one or two lower noise-reducing settings.
In the sweltering heat, I was miserable. One old window unit in the apartment that cost a fortune in electricity but provided very little relief. I needed the largest and most powerful pedestal fan at a low price, but local stores were sold out (due to the heat), so I ordered it online and waited two more days for it to arrive, and I feel reborn- and dry. I'm really happy with it. It isn't completely silent, but it is white noise. Actually, it's quite soothing.
I ordered it, assembled it, and turned it on only to be disappointed by how wobbly and loud it was. I've placed an order for a replacement, and when it arrives, I'll update my review. The fan blade was wobbling and making noise because it was out of balance. br>br>UPDATE: br>A replacement was sent to me, and the same thing happened. This is a junk fan made of cheap plastic. Avoid it.
